I wonder why it is only on 364 specific cars though and not all GT3s and RSs. Was it because those 364 cars specifically have a defective part/s that the other cars don't have? Good thing I have my GT4 which I'll continue to track.

You know how this goes, a supplier messed up and Porsche is very good about regressive forensics. It will resolve to a production sequence associated with a factory delivery and they'll take good care of you. You want this right.

PAG has issued a Port Action campaign that affects 364 2018/2019 911 GT3/GT3 RS. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any additional information at this time. This topic is currently being analyzed by PAG with the highest priority.

The only information we have at this time is as follows:
  • All affected vehicles are blocked at our Ports of entry for an additional quality measure per PAG until further notice (most of the affected vehicles are still ON VESSEL at this time)
  • All affected vehicles will have comments in PVMS: Estimated Release from Quality Hold – Pending
  • An estimated release from quality hold date will be provided as soon as possible and PVMS will be updated accordingly
  • An official communication detailing a time-line and additional details is estimated to be provided once received

The following has been posted to PPN. A number of affected have already been updated in PVMS; as not all GT’s are affected, please check yours for status. We are working on a communication for customers affected by this action.
So let's say some work needs to be done to fix this issue. Any idea who will perform the work? Would it be someone at the port (who would that someone be?), or would it be the local dealership that sold the car?

I'm not in any rush to get the car and the last thing I want is for the car to go up in flames because there was an oil leak. I want the problem to be addressed and corrected before I get the car. I just found it interesting how they came up with the exact number of GT cars effected.

My guess is that the work will be done at the dealership but PAG/PCNA doesn't want to send the cars over to the dealership until there is a plan of action in place.

When my AMG GTR was stuck at port last year with an active aero issue, when the stop sale came down the issue was fixed at port for the cars that were there and at the dealership for the cars that were there. They would not release a car that wasn't fixed to the dealership from the port.

Not sure if Porsche does it the same way.

Did Mercedes send their people to the ports to fix the cars that were at the ports?

Yes, they have troubleshooting engineers to do it.

It was actually a funny story, in a staggering coincidence a friend of mine in Jacksonville had just moved and his new neighbour was one of those engineers that was sent to Brunswick to deal with the issue, and he moved my car to the front of thew line with the replacement part.

What if this is all an elaborate diversion so everyone runs to the dealers to go buy the ones on the showroom floors before 12/31? As most these cars would have barely missed the new years anyways...

VERY suspect the ones at the dealers seem totally fine lol We are after all dealing with the marketing hype geniuses over at Porsche Corporate

I am such a sucker

I checked in with my dealer - no delay, but my car just finished last week so still looking at a late Jan/early Feb delivery. Will update if I hear anything else.

However, my SA did say he had another car that had just arrived at port and it was delayed. Very possibly the delay in my car just has not kicked in.
