Default Insurance for GT3 - Hartford Vs Amica Va Geico Vs Progressive Vs Liberty (+ Pictures)

Hi Fellow GT3 Owners,
I finally picked up my car ... I am still kinda in shock ... It was a big move for me I was very close to just not taking it but I saw it and now it is in the garage under the cover )

I have one last thing to figure out, Insurance (The car is currently under Mercury but their rate is awful).
Because of my parking situation I cannot get any agreed value insurance in California. So after getting all the quotes, I ended up with these five providers as viable options. Some are more expensive than other but all reasonable,

Now I need your collective wisdom. Based on your previous experiences (unfortunately in the case of accidents) which I these provide a better coverage for a GT3 with very high MSRP?
1) Amica Insurance
2) Geico
3) Progressive
4) Liberty Mutual
5) Hartford

I have the poll up there but I also appreciate your more detailed input.

And here are the pictures of the car for your viewing pleasure:

Congratulations! The car looks fabulous.

Any reason why you haven't checked out or included USAA?

Sweet... love the color.

I like Geico for my winged version. No experience with the others.

beautiful car, congrats! I have always used Erie, but being in Indiana our insurance is dirt cheap.

I have Liberty Mutual
They have accident forgiveness
Their rates are competitive
On the flip side
Amica is unforgiving on accidents, very high rates for even no accident drivers.

Forget the providers and get yourself a VERY good agent who has worked with them. The rest will fall into place.

I have Safeco and I was quoted $4885 for a GT3.

I checked what I'd get at USAA, and it's even higher.

Congrats!

I struggled with this too when purchasing my Touring. Because of a few speeding tickets in last 3 years, I couldn’t get coverage at all for the new car from my existing provider who covers my DD and 981 Spyder (and whose coverage is very affordable too).

Tried Hagerty, Liberty, and my insurance agent tried others. no dice.

Ultimately, was able to obtain decent coverage online with Progressive despite honest history. While higher, it wasn’t nearly as bad as the quote my own agent obtained directly from Progressive herself with the same facts, which was disconcerting and also upset her as far as Progressive’s procedures vis-a-vis independent insurance agents.

All I can say is that if you can’t get agreed upon value coverage, which is the main reason to go with an insurer like Hagerty, then just shop around, both on your own online and by phone AND using an independent insurance agent. Chances are your situation is unique vs. anyone else on this forum due to your own driving history and state/location, so your experience will probably not line up with anyone else’s.

Avoid USAA....
They are terrible. I had an accident with a Mclaren. A rather small one at that.

USAA did not do anything for a month, and when they did, they low-balled the bodyshop with a rate that would not fix a KIA ($45/hr). They only agreed to fix my car after a complaint against them with our state insurance ombudsman and contact from my attorney. All in all, over 2 months until they cut a check. And here is the kicker...the other party admitted guilt and offered to pay. From day-1.....

If you crash your porsche, do you want them to send your car to Earl Scheib for a cheap re-spray, or a coachworks company that will make your car stunning again??

I have GEICO, FBOW, and they wired funds instantly in an amount the top-of-the-line repair shop negotiated, which was WAY more than I thought it should have been. It was a Cayman S, so no GT3 of course, but the amount approached $30k! It was 16 days after I bought the car when a NJ State Trooper drove straight into the front of me, so it was 100% his fault. GEICO didn't say a word and AFAIK my rates haven't changed.
