Close to getting "Bitten" by the GT3...anyone else?
At least a few times that I could recall. Had my .2 GT3 manual for a few weeks now, still in the break-in period.
I have noticed a few times under moderate acceleration (despite dry pavement/tires warmed/pressures checked), the rear tends to slip/snap loose.
Caught me by surprise a few times, a bit scary feeling. I guess this car deserves some extra attention and respect. Not sure if owners experienced similar events?
Thanks,
Jack

If the tires have heat, with correct pressures on even dry pavement the car shouldn't snap loose under moderate acceleration if going in a straight line. If you are turning at the same time, it is a different matter of course. Generally traction is one of the GT3s strong points.

I haven’t had any eye-openers with my 6mt but I’m coming from a ‘16 TTS with awd so it definitely moves around more. I want to explore the car’s handling more but don’t plan on trying to find the limits of the tires on public roads in a $190k car.
Never been to a track before but really looking forward to taking it to Barber or NOLA where I can open her up a little. I would hope that would help my understanding of the car and its handling.

Is this experience in a straight line or turning? Honestly I find the car very compliant if you're accustomed to the throttle response and power. I've had a few moments where the car gets slightly loose but nothing that's gotten the heart-rate up.
My M4 was more "dramatic" in a straight-line. Granted that was because of the low-end torque and poor traction. Couldn't keep the damn tires on the road half the time.

How many miles into break in? With new tires, I’ve also found them to be less than grippy until the mold release compound has worn off and you’ve gotten into the actual rubber.

There's an onramp near me where there's a slight bump just after shifting to 3rd (going straight). If I'm on it hard, the rear loses traction momentarily and steps out to the right a bit. It always sort of surprises me, but never scary. I find the car is pretty easy to catch in turns if it get's a bit loose. When autoxing (traction aids off), I find that I definitely need to modulate the throttle out of turns in 2nd gear. Lot's of oversteer otherwise.

If you havent been on track. Sign up for a manufacturer event. Doesn’t have to be porsche could by any one such as Mercedes, bmw, lexus, jaguar etc etc. they will teach how to drive correctly and hopefully let you get slalom, figure eight and track time all proper techniques etc etc.

Your tires basically brand new with 200 miles so that is a factor but weather and possibly if you never driven a GT3 other factors.
But, "yes", these are powerful cars that do demand some respect and the more time you get to know her the better you will understand her nature
