Trying for GT3 Touring but considering the R8 RWS
#32
I'm within 30 miles of 2 dealership, so I guess it's OK for me to own one. To set the record straight, I visited the service department only once since I purchased the car a year ago for the first year service. $1600 was the bill. High but not intolerable. Car has been trouble free though. Don't get me wrong, I love my GT3, my fourth 911 and have a Carrera T on a boat heading over to California as we speak, but the 570S is a GREAT car, those haven't driven it should drive it to see how light on its feet due to the carbon tub, the steering is just as good if not better than the GT3, and the mid engine layout make the car feel lighter at the limit than the GT3. My only gripe is the initial bite of the brakes is either on or off but other than that I have no complains, and I complain a lot.

not necessarily true
I keep my cars for average one year
.1 GT3RS cost me 20 k for 1 year. Bought for 17 k above sticker , sold for 3 k below .. Drove it for 1000 miles
R8 just sold cost 15 k for one year of ownership. Drove it for 3000 miles
I think the sweet spot for R8 at present is a used 2017,

Absolutely no way I am going turbo. The power delivery is a killer. I understand the 488 is much better, but NA is just too perfect.

Vbox on RWS with the tunned v10 software does a pretty impressive 7.0 seconds flat from 60mph to 130mph. (Thats rs2 territory)
pretty lively with TC set to mild, but not completely off.
i adore mine in Ibis White, put snows on it a month ago, and its my daily driver. In Canada the used ones are still listed at msrp. New have been gone since June.
no love here, because this is really a Porsche forum, through and through.
Drive both and just decide. The cash shouldn't be an issue.

I wonder what the cost of say a 2015/16 458 would be over 10 years and say 50,000 miles?? I am figuring the car would be worth under $100,000.- no doubt
Probably worth the 10 years of fun I guess????

and 570 is the least extravagant Mac. the bigger guns are even more stellar.
don't worry abt the lag. it's there. but that tub makes up for the little lag.

The 570S 'lag' is traction control. Drive it in ESC dynamic handling set to track power to track.
RTM boys they designed it to slip and slide around (like 458) so you have to actually push it.
