I’ll add, my budget limit is about $170k for what I’m willing to pay. And I live in the Midwest. I’d have to trailer a Ferrari, McClaren or Lamborghini to get it serviced. Looking for a fun weekend car only. Bought the Turbo due to being good for the winter, but can’t/won’t drive the fun car to work anymore. R8 or GT seem the most fun and feesible weekend cars for me. I’d love to buy new for this, don’t want to over pay ADM on the GT. One of the reasons the R8 stuck out.

All R8s depreciate quickly. Even if you buy one for many thousands off msrp, you’ll lose about as much or more than buying a GT3 with an ADM. There’s a reason the R8s sell below sticker and the GT3s above. In the end if you compromise, you’ll probably sell the Audi and still buy the GT3 and take the hit on both. Life is short, and if you’re looking at these cars, the ADM isn’t big money comparatively. Go for it. They really are worth it. I was promised sticker and had to pay ADM in the end. I sucked it up and it’s not even an issue now. You’ll forget about it too.

I keep my cars for average one year
.1 GT3RS cost me 20 k for 1 year. Bought for 17 k above sticker , sold for 3 k below .. Drove it for 1000 miles
R8 just sold cost 15 k for one year of ownership. Drove it for 3000 miles
I think the sweet spot for R8 at present is a used 2017,

Three Wheelin'
Buy the car you want. Don't worry about the money side. They will both lose similar money (even though I think the Audi will lose a little more and is harder to sell). Good luck!

Get a 981 Spyder perfect combo with the Turbo and save allot of $$

Audi R8 has no edge.
Yes, it is well built, reliable and you could throw the keys to anyone and they could drive it. But it is large, heavy and dull to the senses in steering and cabin feedback.
The Porsche steering turn-in is lighter, more precise, and has more prominant feedback.

We had a 16M with the same Superfast 2 transmission. 60ms shifts were an event all their own that always brought a smile. Great balance, although a violent car which loved to take you to that ragged edge of tire performance very quickly.

I haven't tried an R8, but I had a Huracan which I've heard is less boring than the R8. Even so, I found it heavy, numb, and incredibly boring to drive. I loved the looks and the sound (with an exhaust, it sounds bad stock), but there was zero excitement driving it. That's why I'm on my second GT3 now.

I'd suggest take a look at a used McLaren 570S also, if stock isn't fast enough, add a Race Chip piggy back for another 100+HP and not void the warranty. Many low miles samples can be had for $150K to $160K. My 570S is way faster than my .2 GT3 and my tuned 997 Turbo.

I’ve actually been spending much of the night looking at 570s’. Closest service place for me is about 300 miles away. But my sister lives up there so I could have an excuse for a nice overnight trip for yearly maintenance.

I have driven the Audi R8 V10 plus on the track. It is very capable but soft compared to the Porsche GT products. There are also far less aftermarket parts for modification. To me it is a grand touring car that ironically has little trunk space.
