If I were you, I’d go pick up your girlfriend at school in it pretending to be her dad, then cruise around downtown Chicago in it. But try not to leave it with any shady looking valets. And keep an eye on your mileage...

When I first got my 2018 Touring, I'd swear is smoked as often (and as much) as my 2014 - about 1 in 5 starts. As the miles have accumulated (about 13k) it seems to smoke much less often - every couple of weeks rather than every couple of days.

On both cars, letting it idle didn't seem to make much difference...

My .2 GT3 smokes sometimes on cold starts. Maybe 1/3 of the time. 3k miles.

GT4. 7k miles. Never smokes.
981 Spyder. 6k miles. Never smokes.
964. 50k miles Never smokes.
987.2 Cayman S. 30k miles. Never smoked.
993. 50k miles. Never smoked.
964 Cup Car. 10k miles. Never smoked.

WHY does the most expensive one smoke?!

Drives me nuts TBH.

I've had a lot of these cars, never seen heavy smoking happen before (I have owned every variant of GT car over the last years). With the recent news noted on other threads that there is perhaps some engine or PDK problems causing fluid leaks, I would highly recommend you get your car looked at ASAP.

On my GT3RS If the car is parked for over a week or so it smokes , if less then no smoke what so ever !

On my GT2RS if the car is parked for over a week or so it sounds like a diesel , if less then it sounds very smooth when cold !

Once I had a huge billow of smoke on start up.
Earlier I had just moved the car around garage bays, running it for a minute or so.
Dealer says that this is normal for a track oriented car.
Any comments will be appreciated
When I got my 991.2 TT, up until about 1800 miles or so it would smoke like the dickens on start. Once it filled the whole street! It was like Cheech and Chong. Then the more I drove it, the smoke disappeared.

My GT3 never has smoked.

Since so many responded, can we see what brand and type of oil used.

I changed from Mobil to Liqui Moly 5W40 and no more smoke nor valve ticking.

Please edit your post above and state oil used. Thanks
