Interestingly also it has more mechanical noises than the 991.2 GT3 RS, similar to the noises one had in the 991.1 3 RS. This is another reason I am happy to have it and I have to say I am missing the noises in the Gen 2 3 RS. But where I feel so blessed to also have the gen 2 3 RS is that 9K revving n/a engine! And the car is so accurate, planted, easy to position with the smooth engine delivery and throttle control which, my average driving skills acknowledged (!) is not as achievable in the GT2 RS.

the GT3 RS is a perfect track car and I am happy Porsche made it a bit less everyday GT than the previous gen.

But what a unique car the GT2 RS is and what a smile it puts on my face each time I get close to her!

This was well said.

The cars are set up as Porsche intended. Lap times on equal rubber and conditions: GT3 slower than Gt3Rs slower than gt2rs.

Even tho I would prefer the gt3rs all day every day
I love all three. The point I have been trying to make, perhaps unsuccessfully is that while the 2RS is an incredible car and it’s 700hp impressive the 3RS seems to do more with less nipping at the heels of King Kong and all for $200k less and NA Motorsport.

To me thats as if not more impressive.

I too am fortunate to own both of these cars and my early impressions are similar to Gitanna991. I don't have enough time in the 2RS at this point to do as thorough of a review of the differences between the two but I can say that if I were to sell one of the two, it would be the 3RS. The 2RS is just on another level and when you start the car, that growling rocket in the back let's you know it right away. Even when I am just looking at the cars siting inches from each other, the intense visual presence of the 2RS stands out. Don't get me wrong, I love both cars. I have 500 miles in the 3RS at this point and I think the car is phenomenal and it is a big step forward compared to the 991.1 3RS that I owned. It's the most potent and capable 3RS to date as it's significantly more planted, and easier to drive quickly. And, as Gitanna991 said, the sound of the engine on song is glorious.

I'm glad porsche made a gt2 that gets such consistent praise. The 996-997 gt2's didn't invoke the kind of emotion that is communicated on the 991, other than some intense shove/acceleration. Outside of torque, the 3/3rs cousins bested the 996-997 2/2rs EVERYWHERE else. I think it is encouraging, as we move to the inevitable switch to an all-turbo lineup (EVENTUALLY it's coming), that Porsche is making a turbo product that rivals the emotion of their best NA stuff in categories outside of just pure acceleration. It's good news for all of us: Turbo fans, NA fans and the indifferent crowd.

Can’t lie. I would also love to have a 2RS in addition to my 3RS.

Need a higher revving turbo for next GT2 RS - that will ramp up the emotional aspect of it for sure.

If the next GT2RS uses a twin turbocharged version of the 9k rpm 4.0L in the GT3/RS (perhaps backing off that number a little) that would easily challenge McLaren’s motor. Not really sure why they didn’t do this with 991 version (probably budgetary concerns).

Yep that certainly makes good sense from a production and R&D standpoint. But, how awesome would the GT2RS be with the new 4.0 liter with twin turbos....?!
