Uh not true. 2Rs still being produced and more allocations were released a few weeks ago.

It's about numbers sure, but it also about the build of the two cars. Take a look at page 500 of the GT2RS tread and check out the video posted by GT3RS-Fan1. It was produced by PCA and it features TPC Performance's Mike Levitas in a walk around of some of the amazing technical aspects of the GT2RS. It is eye opening.

^^^ Here let me repost as this is an eye opening video that the 991 GT2RS is a Porsche "MOTORSPORT" car.

No doubt the GT2RS is comprised of many Motorsport designed and derived items and fixtures but the fact remains the 3.8L it uses is not "Motorsport" but has been lifted from the Turbo S.
The GT3RS 4.0L is to the contrary "Motorsport" derived and developed based on the 2017/18 GT3R and RSR and the basis for their homologation.
Both are nevertheless incredible cars.
Another good read.

Gotta read the article
Surely you read the article and didnt just look at the pictures...... The GT3RS time was on dry track with the new Cup 2 R tire. They didnt get to run the GT3RS on the normal cup 2 in the dry. And they didnt get to run the GT2RS on the cup 2 R spec tire. Hence the laptime discrepancy.

Not sure if you were directing at me but I do like the pictures and having also read the text they clearly noted that based on the data and past times of the GT3 they estimated the 3RS would be in the high 1:12's with regular Cup 2's. That would be within the same second as the 2RS on Cup 2s.
Even tho I would prefer the gt3rs all day every day

Another VALUE thread which, I bet, the OP was not trying to start but most things on this forum end this way.
This is getting nuts actually.
Great article and objectively done.

well yes and no. Both the cup 2 and cup 2 R are OEM tires....so yes as to that. But, if you are saying the GT3 RS and GT2RS ran same laptimes on same tires, no, not correct.
Doesnt matter - I prefer the GT3RS regardless. But I can acknowledge the GT2RS is faster, all things being equal, as porsche designed it to be.
