2 RS would be within a second of each othe on same tires.
That certainly is not worth a $200k delta in price. At least in my book and when you have to give up a Motorsport NA engine in the process for TT to get there.
If you ask me the market has it backwards. Oh well good for me at least.

I’d rather have a Pista than a GT2RS.

Nice read. I loaded up my Gen 2 996 GT3 and the new 3RS for a Buttonwillow test day next week. The correlation in the article is similar to my reasoning for coming out of hiatus and buying the 2019 GT3RS. I love all the feedback and enjoyment I get from my 996 GT3 and thought perhaps the 2019 3RS would be the pinnacle of breed heading into the 992.
Make no mistake, the two are worlds apart on the track. I have to slow my hands and modulate the brake to throttle precisely to find full throttle quickly in mid corner. Hell, my palms are sweaty and I haven't driven the 996 at the track in two years! LOL!

this is why I love Porsche 911s; despite what people like to say "they all look alike", each variation is quite unique in the driving experience. Except for the GT2, I have owned about every variation of 991 and its amazing how each provides something different. I wouldn't ever say one is better then the other, its simply that each delivers a unique experience that is rewarding in a different way. We are so lucky.

^^^SY. My fav color on 996 gt3!
2rs has the adm it has, not so much because of how much faster it is than the 3rs, but because of basic s/d AND because it is THE fastest 911 even if by a fraction. People pay a lot for "the best/fastest". Setting aside lap times, you have MULTIPLES of examples of very similar driving 991 3/3rs to choose from. While a .1-3, .1-3rs, .2-3, .2-3rs all have their differences, they are all the same basic formula. The 2rs has no close cousin in the 911 lineup. The non-GT turbos are not GT products. The other GT's are NA, low-torque, high revving products. It's the only turbo kick-like-a-mule 991GT of any type anyone can buy. It sounds materially different and delivers power materially different.
That being said, I've chosen the 991.2 3rs as the car I want to own/drive (not based on value; it's just what i want the most out of Porsche's current lineup). But it's no mystery to me at all why the 2rs is the ADM king. I'm confident its ADM will continue to slide, However, the 2rs current ADM levels, while it's still hot, make perfect sense relative to the 4th iteration of the 991-3 NA platform.

You do understand that the gt3 rs is quite slower than the gt2 rs and the only reason for these times was that the gt3 rs was sporting cup 2 r vs normal cup 2 in the other two, right?

The less high speed and more technical a track advantage 3RS.
This is clear.
Even at at one of the highest speed tracks on the planet, the Ring only 9 seconds separated them.
Regardless, we know which one came out on top with Evo and which has genisis and Motorsport derived. Winner.

Not at Angelsey. Re-read the article. The more high speed a track is the greater advantage 2RS.
