Default GT2RS Clubsport turbo and ICs look

Interesting changes between the regular (ha!) GT2RS and the Clubsport. Those intercoolers on the Clubsport are huge!

Even though a confessed "nerd", he made the common mistake of thinking the intercooler sprayer was "water injection", even suggesting Methanol for higher octane. Since this would be sprayed externally over the intercoolers (and general vicinity of the exhaust), that sounds like a possible fire hazard (i.e. don't try this at home)...

interesting. Bmw uses actual water injection on one of their M models. Mid-2000s mitsubishi evo and subaru wrx had intercooler sprayers. I think 2003 model years.

great thread, thx

maybe they inject into the intake this time, for clubsport only?! so it would make sense to use meth, otherwise GrantG good notice LOL

Don't think so - pretty sure the motor is just like the street car, with just a few exceptions.

Those are two very different things, as you’ve stated. The BMW has actual water injection, and injects the water into the intake charge at the level of the intake manifold. The Mitsubishi simply sprayed water on the exterior of the intercooler in order to increase cooling by evaporative means. Spraying water directly onto the intercooler is also what the GT2RS does.

This is correct. Both the GT2 RS and its clubsport version inject water inside the intake manifold to cool the air, compress, and get more oxygen for combustion. With M4 GTS, BMW boosts HP from 430hp or so to 500hp. The case for GT2 RS, everyone knows the figures.

I think you’re confused, Kevin. GT2 RS has a system like Subaru and Mitsubishi, not BMW.

The water distilled tank capacity is 20l for the GT2 RS Clubsport and the 935, instead of 5l for the "regular" GT2 RS.

Where are the intercoolers tho?
edit:I see it now. Quite cool. That aquamist pump is just asking for a re-route of the water pipes to the intake manifold, and throw some water meth on that big reservoir, oh well I guess Porsche knows the thickness of some of their demographics to not had done it from factory. They could had done with this one tho.
Quite nice blue print for mods that Porsche gave with this car. 991 Gt2 RS has a very promissing future.

That makes sense, as the tank in the road car is only big enough for 3 laps on the Nordschliefe. A popular upgrade is adding additional capacity from Manthey Racing.
