I saw your post in the other cmb thread, so if you take a read about the side bypass pipes in this thread you can compare and contrast the benefits of the cmb and smb. I'll post every video I come across, we'll have something for everybody at some point haha. If you have an particular requests, I'd be happy to accommodate via our next install. Sound is very hard to capture on video. Especially because most people don't listen to YouTube videos on high end full spectrum audio equipment. I tried to record my bypass setup and it sounded horrible compared to the real thing.

In my opinion you should try to listen in person to the bypass you intend to buy. Sometimes that's not possible so you go on reputation and other people's impressions whom you trust. YouTube videos are probably the worst data point you can use.

That being said my full bypass has been exceptional. For those that haven't seen my other posts in this thread my soul side bypasses are coupled to a sharkwerks center just because I already had a sharkwerks and was looking to drop a few lbs with the side bypass. Sound was a secondary consideration. I had heard side bypasses of several varieties including bbi bottom pipe only as well as valved bypasses. The valved bypass was appealing to keep the low end torque about the same even though it's a small loss. Also I wanted something to make it quieter puttering around the neighborhood so my neighbors don't hate me.

As far as sound goes, the center bypass only gives a higher pitched raspy f1 sound. The side center combo is way more throaty and complex with a lot lower frequency. Also the volume is great but not too loud.

Under load there is quite a bit of volume and resonance In the cabin. Cruising at highway speeds there is little to no drone. I can't really tell a difference with the valves open or closed at highway speeds. The volume difference at idle and low rpm is quite noticeably less with valves closed.

Hope that helps People who are considering a bypass. The soul side bypass is a great piece of kit and my experience has been very positive.

that's a nice setup. i had the Akra slip-on center muffler on my 997.2 and it was great. would you be able to post sound clips when you get a chance?

That's what I like to hear! Give us some more details when you can, I know the weather isn't quite ideal for some seat time and further analysis right now. The warnings of "don't breathe deeply or talk outside" in the States right now has been a little worrying. Stay warm!
