Given the side mufflers are on the car in valves open mode, the exhaust flow is going to follow the path of least resistance and pretty much go straight through. That said, a minor amount of that exhaust flow/pressure will bleed off into the "quiet" path of the side mufflers, therefore valves open with factory side mufflers is never going to be as loud as the same setup with side muffler bypass pipes to delete them.

The exhaust upgrade to the mufflers with the biggest transition (most quiet valves closed, loudest sound level valves open) is going to be our center muffler bypass pipe. As shown is our lovely diagrams (great job Mike Spock!) this is because the valves open flow of the factory side mufflers is Less restrictive on sound than the factory center muffler, and the valves closed flow of the factory side mufflers is More restrictive on sound than the factory center muffler

Brett sure knows how to spec a car, I'm still torn between these and the black with green stripe. Gavin at Autoquest did one heck of a build on his with the black/green wheels, i'll have to find a photo and post it up.

Brett I read your review above this morning and couldn't stop smiling. Thank you so much for all the kind words and your confidence in myself and our team here. You are invaluable as a client and a friend

Are you planning on going to the Smokies GT meet next year? We have got to hit the Skyway together again, I still daydream about that weekend haha.

This product like the others that I have purchased from SOUL is top notch quality. The ship time was fast and the packaging was great. The finish of the products is very nice and clean. The customer service is second to none, which anyone who has worked with John will attest to as well. It doesn't get better than this.

I am no mechanic by any means, but have installed a couple Porsche exhausts over the years. I would rate this job as a 4/10 in the difficulty range. All combined it took me a solid 5-6 hours solo to install it. It was very straightforward, and everything matched up perfectly.

The sound of this setup is just about perfect for me. I would rate the stock exhaust at a 6/10 in terms of the loudness that I personally desire at full throttle. The SMB's took it to a 8.5/10. They made the tone slightly deeper, but really kept the exotic sound of the stock car. I can't notice any drone with valves open or closed. In retrospect, I probably would have gone with the non valved SMB's given that I press the PSE button first thing after I start the car, and this car isn't a DD for me. I think I could easily have a phone call on my way home from work with the PSE on with no issues.

For me this modification fulfilled my desires of maintaining the stock exhaust quality but making it louder while dumping some weight and heat soak from the rear of the car. I really don't think you can beat the combined quality, value, and customer service that the SOUL products provide.

Did you have to lower your car to compensate after removing 35lbs off the back?

Lizard, non-Weissach, decal delete, silver wheels... this probably the best specced 991.2 RS I've ever seen. Wow.

Anyone know how long the stock center muffler on a .2 might last with Side Muffler Bypass? Planning on only 3-4 track days a year...5 at most.

Also anyone dyno Side Muffler Bypass Pipes? I dont want to lose torque for street use.

I have ordered the CMB and hope to have ti delivered by next week.
I will put up some really nice before & afters for everyone to compare

Furthermore, i would like to add that John at SOUL is is a gentleman. In my dealings thus far his customer service is and attention (ie- replying to emails fast etc) is refreshing.

I don't know about everyone else, but it's not just the product that matters. We want nice prompt service too at a fair price without the "Luxury Car Tax".
As car guys, when we get an idea in our head that we want a mod, etc, we want it now! Haha. And contacting a shop / retailer etc, we want to have the product ordered / on the way ASAP so we don't loose that momentum of the idea in our heads. [i am like this anyway]

John has been really diligent in replying to emails and keeping me updated etc. And even went out of his way to help me with ordering the seat angle adjusters and package them into the same shipment for me with the CMB at no extra cost.

Will start a new thread when the CMB is installed guys! And also the seat angle adjusters. + I just ordered the Pepita Houndstooth Inserts for my LWB seats! Will also do a nice picture set once they are in!
