And getting bigger. The new Carrera S has 305/30/21's in rear as the base tire.

One can only imagine what the GT3/RS tires will be.

The current GT3 RS has rears in P325/30R21

I am in the market for a Huracan Performante and will add it to my 2018 GT3. I hear great things about the car. How does it differ from the GT3 in your opinion

Do you consider the 991 GT to be an exotic?
I don't think this statement indicates one way or the other... and it doesn't matter. I really thought my F430 handled pretty well - but only if you keep it in its power band. Otherwise it really understeered. However my GT3 ALWAYS feels like it could handle more, way more. I feel the 458 really improved on this but it is still a Ferrari which means that you can't put more than 10,000 miles on it or EVERYONE will think that it is ready for the salvage yard when it comes time to sell it.

Is it an exotic? No, it's a Porsche GT car which I totally feel is a class all by itself.

I've only had the Performante on track for a few sessions, but it's confidence inspiring. Between the AWD and the ALA, you feel like you can do no wrong.

I've said this before when comparing the GT3 to the TTS, but I think the same applies when comparing the GT3 to the Performante.

The GT3 makes you want to be a better driver.

The Performante makes you feel like you are a better driver.

Regarding a "better" handling car; I think a car that handles the best is defined on how fast it can go around a corner. Which, from my experience in the cars, the GT3 does damn near the best. 720s is the only thing that really bests it in the handling in regards to how fast it can go around a corner (that I've driven). However, and we'll use the 458 as an example, it is easier to drive nearer the limit. Most guys could look like a better driver in the Ferrari and can more easily extract the cornering performance from a Ferrari. With the right driver, a Porsche is tough to beat. A Porsche is a tricky car and requires careful use of the brakes for a proper slip angle on entry and early throttle to plant the grip in the car through the corner and on exit. You need to have excellent car control and cant be afraid of getting a little sideways at high speeds. TBH, the problem with a GT3 is how good it handles on the street and how uneventful it can be if you don't push it hard enough. A 458 will give a lot more thrill through the canyons at 60mph when you'd need to go 80mph to have the same fun with the Porsche. Hope this makes sense.

+1. Ferraris in my experience tend to slide a bit more in a good, balanced way. Have both if you can.

+1 as well. When I started having “less” tires for street-use in my Porsches, I found them more fun to drive as limit becomes more accessible in the streets.

+1 on mid-engine = better balanced = better handling. And rear-engined 911s having more layers of involvement.

I did Dream Racing in Vegas. Drove the SV Aventador and the GT3 RS.

Maybe it was because I drove the GT3 first and got a better feel for the track but I ran a couple seconds faster in the Aventador SV. The Aventador slid around a few times (hard braking to avoid amateurs in front) but I felt like it had better grip.

Just took my lt600 for the first time yesterday...without question, it crushes the handling of every GT car I've ever had (I've not been in a 991.2 3rs yet, which would be closer though). id maybe like 235/245 tires in front vs the 225 there but honestly it still does the job...
