Default GT2 Spec Opinion

New member here but old Porsche guy. Need to finalize my GT2 spec which is a Feb build. I like the std wheels better than the magnesium and could put the money toward other options. I do believe in spec'ing what I want but curious if there are opinions on not having the magnesium wheels and ultimate resale. Yes the wheels are available. Only no go is PTS. Thanks

Nice position to be in, congrats. I personally would have to have the WP + Mag wheels if I could get that option on the GT2RS. Just for personal taste and if you are going that big might as well go all the way. For resale too I would imagine those are very desirable/won't hurt but only help

Thanks. Have the WP. Do like the other wheels better. Mark Weber has nice You Tube discussion (CSR2) with a GT Silver, std. platinum wheel. Looks real sharp IMO.

You might get lucky and get both, as some people ordered mag wheels but there was a delay so PAG let them keep the standard wheel that the car was delivered with as well, but take that with a grain of salt. Having seen the WG mag wheels in person on the 2RS they are incredible, one of my favorite Porsche wheel offerings ever. If you don't like them, I wouldn't worry about resale but just get what you'll enjoy for this amount of coin

Are you certain that mag wheels are available? My GT2 is also a February build but have been told there is a stop order on them.

Happy to ask the dealer tomorrow. Did not seem to be an issue the other day. Also meeting with the Exclusive people this week to see if there is anything interesting- will ask them too.

Great, hope you can report back. My dealer checked on Friday and the option was still showing as non-selectable in the Porsche ordering system.

Feb 2019 builds for GT2RSs? Nice, looks like Porsche continues to build the cars.

Bummer, I'm still annoyed my dealer couldn't get me one 1.5 years later after my initial request was placed upon release. , they didn't get a single allocation.

Personally if I had the means to get the car I would not want the mag wheels and get a nice set of HRE's.

I stand corrected. PCNA responded this morning that Magnesium wheels are not available. Dealer tech said BBS has nearly identical for half the price fyi. Makes my life easier as I like the std wheel better- no decision to make.

My own spec for my GT2RS did not include the Mg Wheels since I intended to track it and the Mg Wheels are more
easily damaged and MUCH more expensive to replace. I also felt the standard wheels were better looking than the Mg Wheels.
I had originally specced the Front Axle lift kit but I've since learned that the lift kit may be incompatible with Manthey suspension
improvements.and I had decided to leave that off since my previous GT3's and GT3RS did not have it and I've never needed it.
I do feel the Weissach Package looks gorgeous and did spec that along with all the Zero Cost options, Sports Chrono w Lap Trigger.
a fire extinguisher and Bose Radio. I ordered the 2RS 3 years ago and was 4th on the list at my Melbourne, FL Porsche Dealer after
buying 4 previous Porsches from them @MSRP. They surprised me recently by advising my 2RS now requires a $150K ADM which
I have no interest in paying so I intend canceling my order.. I've driven and ridden in friend's GT2RS's and they are indeed wonderfully
powerful cars with surprisingly benign handling characteristics on road and track but, IMHO, the high Wind, Tire and Engine noise
would make it intolerable for very long drives with my wife - so we'll stay with our present '18 GT3 for Track and Turbo S for those long
drives while looking forward to the new and undoubtedly improved and further advanced 992 GT Porsches.

I see you have a Pista. How does the acceleration compare with the 2RS?

Good grief, maybe that's unsurprising in this day and age of Porsche GT cars but to hit you with this late on seems poor form to me!
I'd do the same btw - no car is worth a 50% mark up. The 3RS isn't such a bad substitute!!
