Golf Blue GT3 Touring ED report from Italy
My wife and I took delivery at Werks1 in Zuffenhausen Tuesday afternoon, after a tour of the factory.
Headed straight for Reutte in Austia in Tirol, took in some plus 200kph stretches on the A7. The winter tires have me limited to 240 kph.
Next up was Lake Guarda where we've been hanging out at LeFay Spa on the west shore - highly recommended.
Mobbed a few mountains pass in the past few days! Coming from a base 997 this Touring is a quantum leap. This Touring is my first new Porsche and I couldn't be more over the moon. The way the motor pulls, the sound, the direct shifts, the firm ride! Absolutely amazing.
Oh yes my car is painted in Golf Blue W91 and I matched the belts with the brakes, like you should. The single lens swiveling PDLS lens works a charm at night on Italian passes. The single lens light works best aesthetically for a 911 and Touring, I think. I've got the buckets and both of us are super comfortable, even after 8 hours in a day, and the Touring specific cloth centers negate the need for seat heating, I think. In/egress is a bit of challenge. The FAL is a must here in Italy and love the "turbo blow off" sound at 30 mph when it lowers again.
The photo below is a good representation of W91, and I think it's epic, mean yet understated - perfect for a Touring. I'll post some more pictures a few days.

Did the factory set you up with the turbo wheels and snow tires? What did you do with the stock wheels and tires?
My Touring was built just about a year ago and I would have loved to do ED, but didn't want to deal with winter over there. You're making me regret that...

In fact, I can't fathom anyone buying a new German car (or Volvo) without it...
With the 992, ED will be even easier as there is a factory option for a clear bra (I usually just applied temporary traq wrap for ED until now)

Tasteful! Agree on single lens aesthetics and sound of FAL 'discharging'. Felicitazioni.

ED is too much fun. Good for you. Make sure you hit Falzarego pass & hunt down Powerslide Lover, maybe even Maloja Pass and drop down into my hometown of Como
