I would consider 4C and the new Alpine, but neither is available for Euro Delivery. With BMW’s 5% discount for ED (if you can find a dealer to honor it), it’s only $57k for the M2 Competition. And it’s also the only one of the 3 to offer a Manual (and 6 cylinders).

Article is far from "conclusive". It is riddled with qualifiers.
Time will tell.
The 992 S is 5 seconds faster than the 991.2S at the Ring despite it being heavier.
I can see the 992GT3 dropping more weight with the MT, CF fenders, lighter wheels and less carpeting, CF buckets. Power likely up to 520 hp for the GT3 and 540hp for the RS.
What is for sure certain is that PAG will not release new GT cars that are slower than their predecessors.

I believe you need a lesson in reading comprehension.

It's not all about numbers, it's more about sensory feedback and tactile satisfaction. After a drive in the 4C my RS feels like a less raw and involving even though much faster and more capable drive if you can believe that... not all about numbers...

Can’t argue with that, but please drive the the 4c and the Guilia. The latter feels like the BMW of past brought to modern times. It’s not refined, does not feel like a luxary car at all. It feels like a sports sedan! It lacks the manual, but ticks the most important boxes.

ps: owned a F80 M3, now have a 4 cyl Giulia. I think the Giulia is a way better sports sedan, even with its measly 4 cyl engine.

Whatever keeps those 991 GT3 values relatively down (so I can buy one) I am happy.

Seriously though I think for at least one more .1 generation they can still keep it atmospheric. Also have to remember it's more than sheer horsepower figures with these cars.

I’m sorry. 4C?
I agree. Sensory and tactile have a major importance.

I would only buy either of these cars as street toys not track times so 3 pedal is not a question, it’s required. Based on a performance to price ratio in the US it really only leaves the M2. What other ~$60k 3 pedal cars perform as well?

agree that PAG doesn’t release new GT cars slower than their predecessors, but unless they do something un Porsche like and make a real decrease in the weight, I don’t see how the next GT3 will be faster. They could remove carpet under seats like .2 RS, and do CF fenders, and maybe stock lighter wheels.
But even that only loses 25lbs, just a small fraction of the coming weight increase with the 992 body. Unless they do something more drastic, like retain the current 7 speed PDK which is another 25 lbs lighter than the new 8 speed PDK, this might be enough (with the expected 520 hp .2 RS engine) for the 992.1 GT3 to be slightly faster than the 991.2 GT3.

bc many ppl cannot drive.
bmw has not made a decent car for over 10 years. maybe even 15 years.
what part of M2 is good?
just b/c a car has a manual doesn't mean it's INVOLVING.
I drove 4C briefly and like it.
