991.1 versus 991.2 Motors
Hello everyone!
Would someone please provide some input about the differences between a 991.1 (3.8 liter) versus the 991.2 (4.0 liter) motors. Someone told me there was a change from hydraulic to solid lifters.
Thanks,
-Thor

Not trying to be rude, but you just joined and asked one of the biggest conversed topics.
There should be plenty of answers in this sub forum if you search a bit.

Porsche redesigned the top end of the .2 GT engines. Lots of technical info out there, but just understand it is better than the .1. A bit more torque. Puts out a bit more power. The .1 engine had some top-end problems, and Porsche provides a free 10 year or 120,000 mile warranty covering the engine. The .2 cars are much more expensive. Only you can decide if the delta is worth it.
Good luck!
