Default PCA AutoX

Went to a PCA AutoX yesterday and there were quite a few special color GT3's and GT2RS's there. There was another Viper Green GT3 there that's not in the picture as the car owner was working the course and couldn't pull his car over.
BTW the GT3 was very very competitive, I had a friend Ken who's a multi time SCCA national champ drive the car to show me what the car was capable of and his second run on a course he never ran on and on a car he never sat in before did a 75.xx, the best time of the day was from a fully race prepped and stripped out Boxster running 74.5.

Looks like a great day this close to winter. Where was the event at? Looks like a great turn out as well.

Weather looks good. I am jealous and I am not. Season ended here 2 weeks ago and weekends are mine now (wifey too). We cut back from doing 30+- autocross days a season down to 12-15. GT3s are very competitive at autocross and GT4s even more so. Took the season with my stock GT4 running Ho Hos. And FTD most events running against GT3s. Events where I did not get FTD were won by a CSP Miata. Since I had 4 straight 1STs I took my new GT3 to last event with last years Ho Hos. Lot of fun but year old stickies were not so sticky.

Event was at the old El Toro marine base in Southern California where Motor Trend film many of their drag races and car tests. Temps was in the low 80's and clear, not too sunny, just a perfect day for any outdoor activities.

Agree 100% that the Caymans and Boxsters do better than the 911's in autocross. Hope Porsche will bring the next Boxster Sypder w/ the GT3 4.0 engine to the Los Angeles Auto Show tomorrow. Can't wait.

I only did 1 season of autocross, long time ago, with my beloved 996. I got the novice trophy at that time, won a set of R compound tires.. Have no plans of doing it in my GT3. Autocross is best for light weight, smaller cars, like a prepped Miata or even a Boxster. Long road course tracks are the 911/GT3 venue.

Great set of cars, though! Thanks for the photos!
