November 2018 was unseasonably sunny and dry (we were S of you), great time for your delivery. Any problems with roads or weather on this trip?

Weather was pretty good up until the 8-9 of November when I was driving between Triberg and Dijon and it started pouring. I'm from Seattle so I'm used to the rain but it was very heavy with lots of standing water on the highway. I just kept to the right with the trucks as I didn't want to push my luck with the Cup 2s.

But I must say, the newer Cup 2 are much better in the rain, no white knuckle moments and car did very well. Must be that rear engine weight over the traction wheels!

Car was fantastic, no issues whatsoever and would do it again in a heartbeat!!

Great review of your GT3 ED! I was supposed to take delivery of a manual 992 S Cab in Leipzig this Tuesday, April 28. However, with the factory closed the trip had to be cancelled. Who knows when things will be back to normal. Porsche offered us delivery at PECLA sometime in July/Aug, but that is not what we signed up for. Although we got all our hotel deposits refunded, we are still sitting on $3K worth of flight credit that needs to be applied to a future trip anyway. So we are asking to postpone to spring 2021. Given the timing, I'm considering changing the order to a 992 GT3 Touring with 6spd....when its available to order of course. What are your thoughts? I had negotiated some savings on the 992 S Cab since it counts as an extra allocation for the dealer. However, I'm assuming the rare nature of the GT3 will make that unrealistic. Did you pay full sticker for your car?

Sorry to hear about your Euro Delivery postponement... I'd hold out for Euro Delivery if possible, depending if you can be without a car that long and since you have the flight credits to use.

992 GT3 Touring would be my choice, but its probably a year or more away especially with all the current delays and nothing announced yet.

I found them to be great for spirited driving and they are very supportive for that purpose. They aren't a Panamera or S-Class type comfy seat but rather a seat made to hold you in.

Personally I find that I can sit in them for about 2-3 hours before I need a stretch. No regrets and I would still spec them on any future GT car.

that's the part I don't get, I know the buckets are designed to keep you in, but that really only implies for people tracking, but most doubt track the car, so why not pick 18 ways and go comfy? I'm about to buy gt3 with buckets and a bit nervous about how my back will hold up. And from what I have read, people who have tracked only go few times a year, but that's like a very small percentage of time on track vs road.

I've owned my GT4 w/ LWB's for going on 3 yrs and have done a few 2-3 hr drives with relative ease and comfort. I'm 55 , but a lifetime athlete so I do have a decent back and am in fairly good shape.

Biggest issue with the buckets is the egress and ingress can get old after a while, but I don't come anywhere near using mine as a daily. More like a 1/week car but if your GT will be used quite a bit...18 ways are your best bet.

The LWBs are at best a compromise for the track.

For some, me included, the 18 ways are uncomfortable. And the LWBs are a godsend for the back, spine and everything else. My girlfriend's C4S is simply undrivable for me for anything longer than a quick jaunt to the market.

I would never buy a 911 with the 18 ways (or any iteration of the sport seats).
