A friend of mine who recently locked his GT2RS build was told that the Mg wheels were on stop order due to supply issues. I told him to ask his SA if he could buy them for his car for the option price once they became available again - SA checked with PCNA and was told absolutely not... He would have to buy them for the full retail price.
Seems like the early cars with the Mg wheels will become the most desirable.

My GT2 RS is coming this week; WP without the magnesium wheels. I wanted them but the dealer removed them from the configuration. I now see that Porsche is sending them for delayed cars and letting the owners keep the standard GT2 wheels. Looks like I fell in the doughnut hole. We should lobby Porsche to allow refused owners to buy the mag rims at $13K. I am sure that is still profitable, and WP cars without the mags will be orphans.

^ I wish you luck, if you succeed, then you most likely can also have trump stop the wall thing

Yeah it's pretty disappointing isn't it? I shared my views with Porsche about me being denied the mags and they didn't respond to my feedback. And, this is in spite of the fact that I bought multiple 991 GT cars over the last year or so. I love Porsche but I just don't get some of the policies they put forth. Like the fact that some guys can get the mags while others can not. Some guys were granted mags and their cars came with the standard wheels instead. These guys were promised that the mags would come later and they were allowed to keep the stock wheels after Porsche back filled the mag wheels. Boy, how does one customer spending $350,000 on a car get the mags while another guy spending $350,000 on the same car is denied the mag wheels. I would sure love to hear the Porsche brass explain that one.

Oh I know. I was not overjoyed when they announced that the GT3RS builds going forward would have the mag wheels as an option.

i actually prefer the look of the standard wheels but wanted my 2RS to have as many visual differences as possible versus my .2 3RS.
