Red for the win!

From what you wrote, the Touring seems to fit you better. I also have to lock my order soon, but decided on the winged version, PDK in chalk with the black wheels. Will be the first PDK I have tried. Have other manual 997 S and '73 2.7 that we play with and can't wait to try PDK.

Winged vs touring: Your have a 981 and have a turbo. Go for the winged GT3, Totally different experience from what you have had. Even if it's only going to be for street, this winged GT3 will distinguish itsell from what you already have or had.
Color. Totally personal. Obviously, I like GT silver.
Seats: You have 18 ways in one build, and LWB's in the other. At 1-2K miles a year, I'd go with the LWB's for the same reason I suggested winged: for the total GT3 experience. If you would rather have comfort, go for the 4 ways. Many people say it is more comfortable than the 18 way.
Add the smoking package. Gives you an extra power source. I regret not getting it in mine. That little pocket without the smoking package is pretty useless. Looks funny, too.
Bose. IMO, useless expense. The standard radio is good enough. The glorious powertrain sounds of the GT3 will drown any improvement the Bose offfers. I've listened to both standard and Bose in a parked car: no significant improvement IMO. More about bragging rights.

- I would get buckets or 4 ways. I had 18 ways in a 2017 C4S and to md, they were the most uncomfortable seat. I have buckets and they are really comfortable....and you can change the center to give the car personality instead of staying stock
- I would get steel brakes, red deviated stitch....and buy PCCB rotors and put on car. I do not like yellow calipers...and you come out ahead with my approach. As $3,500 for yellow in lieu of red stitch is silly, and you can sell the steel rotors /pads after change....pccb require a small spacer to fit on steel brake car...but caliper is identical
-get Carbon interior...as it looks slick with 911R ****
-I’d consider the extended dash leather...I don’t have it but it really finishes the car off

Thanks all! So many good (and conflicting!) ideas, this is a house divided. Keep them coming!
If I’m doing buckets, is there anything I can do in the configuration to get rid of the stripe? I thought I read something yesterday about the addition of deviated stitching eliminating it, but that was news to me. I never thought to ask when doing the config at the dealership. I HATE the stripe.

And, honestly, do you really think a GT3 will make a statement for you when 99.999% of the drivers out there don't know the difference between a GT3 and a base Carrera? Money saving possibilities here.
Really, to avoid all the nonsense, what you should do is ditch the GT3 idea (and the 997TT) and go with a base 4 drop top. Paint it yellow. And you'll get all the admiration your looking for. Plus, they're more fun.

Driving around like this, with a big old wing on your back, stuck in traffic, on roads with posted speed limits, makes you look silly to most of your fellow motorists. Of course, only putting 1k miles on it per year will minimize the embarrassment.

I have the Spyder, no need for another drop top.
I’d love to put 10K miles per year on all the fun cars, but life, family, work, and travel all take their toll.
Best times with the cars are C&C and PCA events, and the occasional long drive with radio off and engine turned up!

Get the winged GT3. Other than that, I would add PCCB's to your red one. Maybe consider carmine red too, since PCCB's and Carmine go very well together. Unless Carmine is PTS only now.
