If the car is around $100K, I don't give a second thought about all the factors mentioned by the OP, but when it gets to $200K and up, I start caring.
Wait I have a Carrera T on order just for the aforementioned reason.

It's a 2017, have about 3100 km on it since November 2017. I thoroughly enjoy it, though I find it doesn't give me the complete oh **** off the line feeling. It feels slowish off the start, that's just the power/torque band though. It's a high revver. I didn't go for the R for the following reasons a) this was on the dealer lot, winter was coming, saved a chunk b) Didn't need the aero, carbon wheels, slightly different exhaust, further tuned magaride suspension of the R. Wasn't worth the huge percentage cost difference to me given my other cars and car goals. 2017s and newer have the track pack that was optional on 2016 non R. I also have electronics/tech pack and recaro seats. I was amazed by how well the car did on track at the Ford Performance School. I was hooked after that. However came home and didn't track it last season, tracked my GT4 instead.

*Depreciation (NO, zero)
*driving To many miles (NO, I can't stop driving them)
*rock chips (some chips are unavoidable, u can put a clear bra on. I routinely tail gate gravel truck, while I don't like chips, they don't paralyze me)
*scared to park in a parking lot (YES, but I rarely PARK my cars. I drive and drive and drive it home)
I feel like this Ruins the experience, somedays I prefer my m3 just so I donít have to worry about the car!
this is not a can I afford thread. I am very shrewd if I couldnít afford the cars I have I would not have bought them!!! (well... they way I see it is that if my car is $150k OTD, then I consider the $150k had been already burnt to the ground...)

My biggest concern is getting in a major wreck and not being able to replace my GT3 as the new ones will soon go turbo.

Otherwise, I plan to keep this GT3 for 20 years. I love her, drove her all over Europe this September including tracking her at the Ring, and I have no desire to ever play the GT car allocation/ADM game again with Porsche.

Shes all I need for my fun weekend/track car.

Depends on what % of your net worth you paid for the car...

<2%: you won’t care about any of those things including totaling it at the track
10-20%: depreciation, miles, and chips will bother you
>50%: a fly pooping on it will bother you

Has nothing to do with the car being “exotic” or not.

Itís a car. Not a Picasso. Drive it, enjoy it. Sell it. Buy another.
Yes you will lose money.
Yes there will be rock chips.
Yes there will
Yes people who stare and take pictures.

its ok. Itís part of the fun.

bit donít expect to make money. Thatís when it gets stressful. Expect a loss when you sell and the owner ship experience is that much better.

everyone has good reasons above.
I used to be sensitive.
now I think of it this way....
20 years ago, I was in way better shape ( I am in pretty good shape now). I don't need warmup , cool down, or stretching,. out the gate, literally any sport, I am at 99%. nothing hurts. played tennis 6 hours a day pretty much everyday. ran miles and miles in morning. no a prob...

today... after a ride, knee makes STRANGE AND SCARY noises.
lift a few pounds, need to have Xray done on shoulders
walks into garage ... more like fell into garage and giant bursa on elbow.

so what's the point of all this?

if I am not lasting forever, certainly I dont want my toys to last forever.
I want to USE THEM UP before I enter the casket.

if my legs are full of scars from cycling wrecks and lower back hurting from other sports. then it's ok that my cars have a few chips and blemishes. bc In my mind, NO CAR is more exotic than myself.

this line of thinking freed me up.
friends who rode with me will tell you that I don't baby the 4.0 and CGT, hearing the lip scarp or bounce off the pavement is routine pleasure. that said, I do maintain them well. they work work and rest well.

give that a try. you may be surprised.

Move to the Bay Area (or LA)... tons of 911s and they are pedestrian. The ďnormiesĒ canít tell a GT3 RS from a base Carrera. You can go wherever you want and park where ever you want without fear. Itís the min reason I sold my Ferrari and threw all in with Porsche. Very liberating.

I think everyone has a different threshold for how much car they are comfortable owning. I know i would be extremely freaked out if i had a CGT but a 991 GT3 was something i was able to learn to deal with. I am sure someone with way more money than me might not be bothered in the least.

One thing to consider - buy CPO or used. My .2 GT3 I had similar concerns as you. My .1 RS I paid more for it but CPO. I track the crap out of the RS without care. There is something in the back of my mind that gives me more comfort on the RS because it wasn't perfect when I bought it. Even though it cost me more I am not upset/scared to tear it up.

- Just a thought.
