it really isn't. It's a brilliant engine but there's grounds to argue it isn't even the best v10 as the LFA has a superlative one (and it sounds the same inside as outside, the cgt absolutely does not sound as awesome inside!). Then there's the laferrari v12 and the bmw in the mclaren F1....

Very interesting to read this thread. It pretty much sums up why we spend money on cars, watches, music, etc.
Yes, agree with Mooty on why we love a certain musician or music, and for that matter art. The latter two are all subjective perspectives. Van Gogh was laughed at by majority of art critics during his time. Laugh at him now.
The above, however, is not a fair comparison to engine design and technology. There was nothing more that could be perfected in sculpture after what Greeks did, and not much any artist could add after Rembrandt, Gericault, Delacroix, or Velasquez, just to name a few. That’s the reason we had Picasso, Matisse, Vang Gogh and Modigliani after them. Same goes for Ray Charles killing it with his voice and some off beat tunes.
As much as we feel passion for these cars, there is a clear distinction between what makes us feel good and what is technologically and mechanically more advanced. To say what is the best ICE, I vote for v10 F1 NA engines of their last generation. But I put CGT, 918 and few other exotic low production engines with them, including several masterpieces from Ferrari. So when you say, have you driven or heard CGT, I say have you driven or heard a 2005 F1 car. For a car that was designed to be abused on the track by track rats, as well as driven on the street for tens of thousands of miles, it is very hard to beat the latest generation Porsche 4.0 NA engine.
Just my 2 cents. And sorry for the tangential long post.

she knows art, while being MD. I made her write all my art history and architecture history papers.
I needed to do other more fun stuff while in school.
Ha, I know this. AP's wife trained him well, that is what...
Honey, who is the prettiest?
"You, hands down, the most beautiful wife ever," said Preuninger.
Even counting Heidi Klum?
"That would be a close second" Preuninger says with a smile. "Your beauty is absolutely mind-boggling"
The key is not to hesitate for even a sec, so you keep practicing till muscle memory takes over.

when my wife ask the same, I always tell her "you are ok, don't worry. as u.get older you wont get any worse....other women gets uglier as they age, you stay same"
it's amazing I am still married.
I can tell you where I was and what I was doing the first time I heard a CGT motor at full song. Sent goose bumps down my spine. Subsequent rides in the car only solidified the impression.
I love the GT3 flat 6 in all iterations. I've driven them all. Can't say any including the 991.2 motor have had any impact beyond "that sounds/feels great".
I'm with mooty; it isn't about what's on paper but rather how it makes me feel. CGT all day long and twice on Sundays.

The LFA makes less HP than the CGT. By 10%. That is a wide margin. It's almost 10 year newer design. But 10% less HP. Exhaust sound is cool on them both and I love the noises.
Best sounding engines (in their raddest spec) of all time (that I can conjure) in no order:
Mazda 787b
250GTO
512 LM prototype
Alfa Tipo 33 stradale
Pagani Zonda R (MB V12)
Mclaren F1 GTR Long Tail
Porsche 3.0RSR
2017 RSR LeMans exhaust kit
F1 NA V10's
Carrera GT
LFA
F50
330 P4

Yes. Plus the LFA actually produces more HP per liter than the CGT. And now .2 GT3/RS engines makes more HP (125) per liter than both LFA and CGT. Now that is impressive. Probably one of the reasons (aside from marketing) AP may believe its such a great engine. But the 918 is still king at 132 HP per liter.
