Ride height comparison between 991.2 GT3 and Cayman GT4
I currently drive a Cayman GT4, and would like to upgrade to a 991.2 GT3. Unfortunately, the GT3 I found doesn't have the front axle lift system. In terms of ground clearance and approach angles, how different is it from the GT4? I haven't had much problems with the GT4 so far but I worry the GT3 may not be as easy.

I have both. Stock ride heights on both. My .2 GT3 seems to have a slightly better approach angle compared to my GT4, meaning I scrape the bottom lip a bit more with the GT4 than I would in the GT3.
Having said that, I do have FAL on my GT3 but my observations above are without using FAL.
If you can live with the GT4 you should be fine with a .2 GT3 without FAL.

I had a GT4 before my 991.2GT3 and the GT4 would catch on speed bumps where my GT3 would sail over..I chose FAL for my GT3 as i had problems with my GT4, however in retrospect i could live without it..

The GT4 has more front overhang so it’s more prone to scraping. If you’re comfortable with a GT4 then the .2 will be a breeze!
I have both cars, I spec’d the .2 with FAL which in hindsight probably was overkill. (I still have my original chin spoiler on the GT4, plus the 2 new ones I bought before getting that car).

I think it's super subjective. Depends where you live and depends on how much flexibility you want. I don't have my GT3 yet but specced FAL. My GT4 would scrape at the bottom of my driveway when reversing into it, it's pretty flat with a lip where it meets the road. I would never have thought. So I had to approach slow and on an angle. Slightly annoying.
To me the FAL provides flexibility, so I don't have to worry because I have a button for that.

I am not intimately familiar with all the cases, but it was convincingly demonstrated (to me) that lowering the car makes it much more susceptible to this type of damage. Don't think FAL has anything to do with it...

Thanks for the info. I haven't been to those threads in a while but was always concerned about that issue if I kept my GT4. I don't have plans to change ride height on the GT3.

I think it's nice to have a choice. I can understand why some would want to save money, weight, and potential service costs. I have FAL on my car, but think I could live without it pretty easily.
