HRE Wheels | The latest from HRE, the RC104 Wheel - Purpose built for Track Days!
The Series RC1 motorsport wheels are perfect for those seeking strong, lightweight track wheels that can take a beating.
Purposeful. The I-beam spoke geometry shows the true nature of these wheels: strong and efficient. While these wheels are designed to be abused on the track, they are still light enough to markedly increase performance and handling. For street or track, these are meant to perform. These wheels are available in both Centerlock, and most 5-lug patterns.
Available in 17", 18", 19" and 20"

Agreed - Weight data would be nice to know.
How do they compare to R101LW in terms of weight/strength?
Nice looking wheel for sure but for a track purpose setup weight/strength is really more important to me.
I noticed no 21" fitment - any plans to make RS specific fitment?

Great question, I do have data off Graham Rahal's set of RC104's but they're not built in stock fitment (generally we don't do stock fitments but upon request we can, we just don't save the weight data on those typically).
20x9 weights 21.20lbs
20x12 rears weigh 24.40lbs
CENTERLOCK SET of RC104's
Glad you asked, I have the weight data in front of me now so I can update you guys with that info. The RC104's weigh 21.20lbs and 24.40lbs so we'll use that as a baseline to compare to R101 and R101LW:
HRE R101 Lightweights
20x9 - 17.00lbs
20x12 - 20.40lbs
The less mass the wheel has, the less durability and impact resistance it will have so if you're doing any endurance racing for example, I would go for the RC104 option for durability purposes. For time trials, events where you need to be the fastest on track period, then the R101 Lightweights would be better suited for you. With that said I have plenty of guys running R101 Lightweights on track and having a blast with them on, but if you like riding the curbs hard, driving your vehicle to the limit and sometimes you may go off track because of it? Maybe consider the RC104 for more durability.
I don't have a timeline yet on 21" RC104's but we have made the RC103 in 21" before for 991 GT3RS and Turbo before so we should be able to accommodate. Since it it requires the designs to be done in 21" it may be a bit of time but we'll make an announcement on that for you. If anything stay in touch with me if that's what you need and we'll make sure you get one of the first sets if you want that

Good info here, thank-you!
I have a couple of questions for you.
- What accounts for the weight difference between these RC and R series wheels? Is is Volumetric (more wheel) or material density (lighter raw material)?
- I read somewhere that there is a "scalloped" barrel design offered by HRE to better accommodate PCCBs with 19" wheels. Can you expand and or show details on that?
