Default GT3RS seat problem

How can I remove the padding at the top of the seat of a 2016 GT3RS, it interferes with my HANS device

Just grab it and pull. It's held in with velcro. You can get an inflatable bladder to help push your upper back forward or use rags as a stop gap.. put it in between the insert and the seat. You're not the first one to have this problem with the LWB seats.

I had a Hans and traded it in for a Scroth which was less intrusive. There are threads here that discuss the differences.

There are also two merchants here on RL that offer seat angle adjusters that tilt the seat back from stock. Makes a big difference for HANS and helmet clearance, although you may or may not like the non-stock angle of seat.

No it is not held in by Velcro. That “pillow” is a 2 piece (front and rear piece) system that snaps together. Easiest way to remove it is to use a plastic trim tool to lift at the back of the seat and just pull, it will snap out easily.

+1^ After doing that you can also purchase a headrest protector from Crazy Eddie. I did and it works.

with the padding on the headrest removed you will still feel there is interference with the HANS. You will want to go to a more lower profile HANS device. The one with the high back leaves me feeling like i am sitting forward...

FYI I was told while at the Ring, that the guys in Europe don't get those "little pillows" and that there are a few who would be delighted to purchase those!!!
