I bought a used CPO X6M MY 2013 two years ago. Hands down its been the most reliable DD I have owned. Comfortable, fast, and with the addition of Conti Z rated non run flat tires, handles beautifully. I've put on 20,000 miles with the only maintenance issue an oil change. The only downsides are poor fuel economy which I knew going in, and the need for dedicated winter tires which are going back on next week. I was happy to enjoy the major depreciation over its first three years of life...

Depreciation aside, reading the forums it seems like there are very very few big complaints about these cars. Clicking wheel bearings and brake squeal, but no real mechanical issues that I can recall. No grenaded engines from bad rod bearings or anything like that, they seem really solid overall.

I hate to say this but other than the M2, BMW has gotten better at building SUV's than cars.

I also have a Ford Raptor that I daily most of the time now (my fiancee stole the X5M), and that is fun in its own right. It definitely isn't quiet and economical, though. It's just fun. When you spend hours in traffic you want something that you really enjoy being in.
This👍

Definitely. I daily one, its versatile, fun, and it kills M5's and AMG's in the depreciation department, if that's a concern.

Yeah, not sure how a pick up became a DD option for the GT3 crowd, lol.

another raptor DD here. I’ve had 997 TT, M5 and GL63 all for daily driving within the past nine years. My raptor is by far my favorite vehicle. we drive it way more than I expected. And as a side benefit it looks perfectly fine dirty

I test drove everything under the sun and bought an X3 M40i. I can't think of a better daily driver at this time. It makes most of the BMW sedans feel sedate and slow.
Just be careful with the all seasons, make sure they are good ones that will last more than one winter season. Some all seasons are shot for the cold months after a year of use. IMHO it's much better to play the winter tire swap game regardless of AWD or RWD. The tires are the only thing keeping you on the road so to me the cost of the extra wheels and the less than one hour it takes me to swap the wheels/tires out for the season is a good insurance policy. I have a Audi S6 I daily and would rather have the good summer tires for the good months and the good winter tires for the cold months so I can drive it with no worries. Your mileage may vary...

I would love to get one of the new M5's. Don't want to spend the money so I'm waiting for the off lease specials in a few years. The residuals on them are horrendous. After 3 years it's half the value, and that's with the low mileage leases...

Thats just it. The P car is obviously the fun one but the rest of the week, commute etc you have to drive another car and since I am on roads, highways etc an M car sounds more fun than a Raptor.
