One of the reasons why Albert Biermann left BMW was the watering down of the M brand. This included the decision by the bean counters to shove torque converter autos down his throat v. further developing the DCT trans.

Seen them around town - hard to distinguish from the big body 7 series... porker. Wouldrather have the E AMG myself.

‘funny you say that I traded my F10 in for a M3 ........I rather drive a SUV vs a 4500 car.

I find that the modern AMG cars are all too stiffly sprung for my liking for daily use.

I have a F10 M5 since new. Its a manual and has a comp pack and CCB.
I drove it yesterday and it will stay with me until they make another manual m5.
Its too fast, even faster than a 991 RS on a running start.

I took out my e39 right now for an inspection, such a big difference between the two.

Both will stay with my porsches.

Dont plan to buy an F90 m5.

Would rather have an M5 than a panamera.

Now that is a car loving wife! It would have been really emasculating if she'd waited a bit and got the 2019 M5 Competition.

Maybe CJ can grab one from his BMW dealership and throw it into the '18GT3 vs 19GT3' below.

I really thought about the M5 but ended up going for Range Rover Sport SVR. Hopefully won't regret it...

Nothing against the Ms and AMGs. But spending >100k is silly for a daily. At least that’s been my experience.

The depreciation makes me nauseous. The roads where I live suck. The drivers are even worse. The parking lots are ding magnets. Oh and I’ve purchased 5 tires in the past 3 years of ownership....section 325 in the rear attract nails like Drake attracts panties at a strip club.

Ive learned an expensive lesson from buying the x5m. Love the car just couldn’t handle all my said points.

Once the warranty expires next year, will be buying a CPO car. Beat it to the ground until i retire in 20 years.

Just my worthless two cents.

I have a desire for one of these. It's just me and my wife, but I think these are cool. Now isn't the right time for me, but I could see myself owning one a couple years down the road. I would likely buy it CPO.

Yeah, but a loaded M5 is similar pricing to a Panny S. Which will also depreciate, just as heavily, while getting its doors blown off by the m5

she had a 535 and wanted a sportier car when the lease was up. I worked hard to convince her that the M5 was the perfect car. She now loves the performance and needless to say so do I.

This x 2, it is the best buy in the segment.

That's the thing- the M5 loaded for 120k is cheaper than a loaded Pan S and M5 has 600hp.

I daily an F10 manual CCB comp pack car and it's 100% better to take long trips at 100+mph than anything I've ever owned. I did Euro delivery on it and only lament that my workplace is 1.8 miles from home so I don't drive enough.

I have not driven the new one yet but have driven the M760. Lol. What a hilarious car - V12 etc etc.

The only car comparable from porsche is the Panamera turbo but they're 40-60k+ Extra

I drove the M5 at the BMW Performance School at Thermal. Loved it.
