I liked my GRP quite a lot. I just wanted to scratch the itch for a minimalist ‘race’ set up that didn’t require changing out the cats and then dealing with the CEL potential or ECU tune. I honestly don’t think there is a ‘best’ exhaust solution. The Akra setup works a lot better than one would expect from a system w/o any mufflers. It’s louder than the GRP, but has less bass rumble. Titanium sounds different than steel probably due to different resonance characteristics. If the system makes more power I cannot discern it; I’m just happy that I don’t notice any losses in torque or responsiveness through the gears. The videos are limited in sound quality far more than in picture quality.

Dundon makes power and torque bulk of which is from headers in addition to sound and weight loss. So not a fair compare to this thread but if it's sound maybe this Akra combo is the way to go. Also looses weight and some small hp and torque gains.

I think I've ruled out IPE due to some negative reviews on quality and not really looking for high pitched sound.
The Akra cost is for Evolution Line Headers with Race Slip On Exhaust System (Valved Side Mufflers, Race Line Center Muffler Replacement, Headers with High Flow Cats). This set up add’s HP and weight loss like the Dundon. I will try to look up and compare exactly HP gain, weight loss, torque, and cost for both exhaust in the next couple of days.

Overall, IPE was my last choice as I have heard mixed reviews on it also.

Dundon Street keeps cats and valves as well which is a bonus for me. Not sure how Porsche deals with warranty on a header change. I don't want to deal with swapping out for dealer visits. Gotta check with them.

That Akra setup needs a tune right?

If you do a full header change up, remapping the ECU is critical to prevent the check engine light coming on. That’s a good thing to keep in mind also about voiding the warranty.

I believe with Dundon street headers you don't need to remap and in testing and customer use hasn't thrown a CEL. Don't know if something like that can change over time.

The Akra unit is a true piece of art when you see it in person huh? Do you ever make your way down here to South Florida? I would personally love to see this color in person. Base on overall score the Akrapovic grades the highest out of all the brands we carry. It's been difficult to keep these in-stock as of late but we've been ordering in bulk to keep up with the demand.

dundon street header, (cat header) will not throw a code or void warranty. no header will, but a tune will. Race headers, real race headers, do not have cats, so any non cat will (or may at some point) throw a code. The dundon setup looks great for the street. also fabspped but no one yet, has a full race long tube without cats that i know of that will not throw CEL without tune.

No, DB Carbon. Dundon info very useful, except possibly on a thread about Akrapovic.
