Good info and insight on the 4 cars. Might as well declare the GT3 manual the winner. It was only one second off the fastest time and you had to drive a manual transmission compared to the others.

I think I'm going to put a "RS" sticker on my Touring Great thread, looking forward to more.

C.J. can you explain more about the PCCBs? We always hear people claiming they are not worth it, so why do you like them and what differences vs the iron did you notice?

Agreed. Tagged for a relevant thread.

I would think they may not be worth it from a pricing standpoint if you are tracking a lot.

I do not track but love the feel and bite thy have. I took the plunge from my .1 GT3 that had the irons to my GT4 that I got PCCB and I told all I was going to give them a try because I had some good coin left over from the trade.

Hence- I ordered my .2 GT3 with PCCBs- that should say how i feel

I'm here to explain that there is a negligible difference between the two cars- I drove them on the same day. Granted it was the first time I'd driven either of them but I've been tracking 997's and 991's a ton and have been tracking my manual GTS all year at Laguna Seca.

Did I get the most from them? No.
Did track temps and grip swing? Yes.
Did Rich/Neo putting 100 OCT help his car? No idea.

If you have driven Sonoma before/ it's a lot like COTA where the track is totally different at different times of day. The track itself slows down a lot. Buttonwillow is similar - very greasy in some corners.
I totally get it and understand what you are doing and agree that the differences between a .2 GT3 and .2RS are within margin of error for most of us. If I came off as being an ***, that wasn't my intent and I was only trying to contribute to the discussion when it came to what times the cars are really capable of. Sonoma is indeed a tough track to log benchmark times.

But I just gave you a real world data point? Driver A in manual. Driver B in PDK. Same car. Same track. Legit lap times. Historically similar lap times between drivers with the PDK driver having an edge. It's not conjecture. I swear I'm not making it up. LOL

I'm confused. I gave you two 'mortals' driving the same track with similar abilities one manual and one PDK, and you blow it off as conjecture. Randy does the test and the cars are only 0.2 seconds apart and you blow it off as not reality. What are you looking for?

It does not take any unusual skill to drive the Manual when using the Rev Match and No-Lift features. Takes a bit more if you do it on your own. The point is, any mere mortal with average skill will be about as fast in Manual as PDK when using the systems and if not using the systems you need to be better than average to keep up. Is there a chance that someone could botch a shift in Manual? Sure...

100 octane in the GT3 would definitely help it’s times.
