At least 25 lbs. Speakers are pretty heavy as is the amp under the seat. If you could go radio delete and get rid of the head thats another 7lbs or so.

Does that mean if you tick the Bose option, the net weight increase over their standard speakers is less than 5 lbs at most?

Correct. The only component you're really "adding" is the subwoofer. All of the same speakers and amplifier exist in both systems. Bose speakers are just slightly heavier. Heck, the Burmester is only 1.5lb more than the Bose. Weight savings at the audio system is a futile effort imho. If that amount of weight matters with how you use the car then you should have a radio delete anyway.

I thought the 991.2 had the amp in the PCM?

thus Bose adds subs, some speakers, and the separate amp.

Only on the 991.2 is the amp built into the PCM(base stereo only). I was referring to 991.1, but should have made that more specific. The 991.2 Bose uses external amplification just like the 991.1 – only difference being the 991.2 has a single amplifier for everything rather than a standalone subwoofer amplifier. I think the weight savings is a wash since the new amp is slightly heavier.

^ Could not agree more. Not sure there's a human alive who could do much on track (let alone the street) with 5 or 6.5 pounds saved over the base system, but the sound sure gets a lot better 100% of the time. I do dig the romanticism of radio delete, and think Porsche could have kept it as an option by moving the backup camera screen to the gauge cluster screen or rearview mirror (like GM does), but as much as I love the idea, I don't think I'd want a modern 911 with no tunes, and no connectivity.

thanks for the replies, just wondering how much these "little" things add, no radio would be crazy, but "ounces equals pounds and pounds equals pain" given the loudness and lack of insulation weight in the GT models, I sometimes wonder why have a stereo upgrade?
