In full disclosure, I do not think the GT4 out of the box is what it should be for the track. Understeer, front nose dive under hard braking, body roll, front tire size - all detract from its track prowess. But, stiffer springs, wider front tires and sway bar adjustment made mine feel perfectly balanced on the track (at least for my driving style). You are correct, I could have probably committed more to the GT3 as far as driver improvement goes, but I'd like the idea of being forced to learn with more of a momentum car (not miata momentum but....)
