I'll post up some more pix in a bit.
I need to drive it back to back with the 3RS this weekend but here's what I'm feeling after putting about 100 miles on the car in traffic, back roads, and a lot of normal driving situations.
I'll try to get it on track before the weather makes it impossible as well.
1. It's definitely a different car from the 3RS...similar of course but quite different.
2. Brakes are nice and easy - you barely have to touch them to get some strong stopping power - great for street and not track focused so it makes sense (I have steel on the 3RS and these are ceramic)
3. Steering - I don't really love the feel of the steering but it's really fine for the street
4. Power - it's amazing but also just feels different than the 3RS..very street car...push go pedal to pass and you are on a rocket ride. At 20% throttle a few times I looked down and was pushing 120mph...truly accumulates speed extremely easily
5. Sound - actually way better than I expected but I like the mechanical sounds the 3RS makes better. With the quiet exhaust mode it's like driving a bmw...with the loud button pushed at times it's nearly deafening...especially lugging at low rpm and heavy drone but pleasing still.
6. Comfort - it's definitely more cushy...must be sprung softer and the seats feel much more cushioned as well which does make sense for a street car too
7. Has a back up camera...which I do miss in the 3RS
8. Looks - so similar to the 3rs but more dramatic with all the carbon
It's almost not fair to compare this to the 3RS...I have quite a few 911s and you really need to separate them into turbo and NA as the drive is so different in each.
I am someone who loves cars, I race them in PWC, I go to cars and coffee and car shows all the time...I drive them on track days, etc.
For me, as a racer at heart the 3RS models speak to me much more.
This is a great DD...insanely fast, looks sick, comfy, etc. But it feels like it was made to draw in the performante, 488, 720S crowd...and it does that extremely well. But I mean it's nearly the same price I paid for my F12 a few years ago and while the HP numbers are the same...they are not in the same league.
If you are looking for the ultimate daily driver, cars and coffee and exotic look 911 this rings all the bells and is truly stellar.
If you are looking for the racer experience you need a 3RS.
In the end, I feel like it makes going fast too "easy"...it's not earned. Yet it's nice in traffic, etc, to have that kind of power instantly at your beck and call.
They really did a solid job of blending a Turbo S with a 3RS...I just prefer the racer feel more personally
I need more seat time of course but I think they built a terrific street car...it really does feel like a Turbo S blended with a GT3RS...it's interesting.

Epic, lovely car!! Love the initial impressions and I think your description of Turbo S + 3RS = 2RS sounds just right. Hope to see you (and the car) at a C&C or track sometime.

So I just took the car on a nice spirited mountain road ride...damp/wet roads with some leaves on the roadway as well...holy hell man this thing moves and the grip is incredible.
I may be in the process of being converted to the 2RS-ology...it's something else...really got the heart racing as it actually got a bit sideways!!

I think you need to drive the 2RS a bit more. I find the suspension in my 2RS to be quite a bit stiffer and jiggly compared to my .1 3RS.

I had a few 911's in the past including a few turbo race cars and I am blown away everytime I get in my GT2RS..engine pulls like a freight train, PDK perfect for such an engine and suspension stiff and responsive. IMO the best 911 since the 993GT2, no other comes close. I have a Touring as well and like the manual and old school theme, but for performance and fun I choose the 2RS every single time
