Is PTS even worth it anymore????
Always wanted a PTS GT3RS but do love my GR RS. With a new handful of PTS coming weighing pre-trading for PTS but on the fence.
Seems PTS cars have lost a lot of luster and value just like standard and optional color cars with time and new models.
Not sure if its worth all the bother when I also really like the color I have.
Thoughts and expected sarcasm appreciated.

Don't buy based on value. Buy if you can't live without a particular color. Very emotional decision, nothing to do with money IMO. If it only had to do with money, I don't think Porsche would sell many $12k paint jobs on mass-produced cars. Just do it!

If you want a special color and can get one at MSRP. Why not?

Having built a few myself: it was always on the premise of building a car I wanted first, with a secondary thought on future resale down the road. I find PTS to be less taxing than the CXX experience when it comes to a build. As far as worth it? At Porsche's current pricing compared to others, $ wise it's worth it. But as everyone knows, if you go off the approved PTS list and wish for some of the more historic colors from 60's onward, the PTS is a major PITA, which is a shame. I've found the CXX options have a greater influence on resale, you get too fancy and people balk......

It depends on if you can get your dream color for a car. $13k for paint seems ridiculous to me; but I paid $4k for LG so who am I to judge? PTS is just like the GT car craze; it’s a status thing.

my last RS was UV, and I found that color pretty special for me and now it’s gone to a better home. Therefore for me it’s all just stuff, and not special and enjoy it for the moment. BMW just released Grigio Gray (sp) as a free option. I do love seeing some of the colors, just not worth the hassle for me .....but cool to build your car and make it some crazy color you like.

‘I think LG is the steal and deal of the century. My last was UV, and I kinda go from crazy color to more classic which I may regret black(:

If Porsche offered a factory green GT3 I would not have bothered. I started out with trying to get a color with meaning to me and when that failed I was happy with black, but then that car arrived with an issue. I was happy to get another black one, but PTS opened up again and I got a color close to the special to me color.
I think PTS will hold a decent percentage of the cost of the option, but the idea that it adds value on top of $12,830 is not true anymore IMHO. At least not on regular GT3/GT3RS.
On the other hand, I am all in and will keep ordering PTS, because, why not?

When it comes to money or color...both topics are very personal/subjective to each person. I like many colors and decided I didn’t want to pay $13k for paint. But I did ante up $4k for GT Silver....

I'd love to spec a pts gt3rs, but with idiots(myself) paying an adm, I can't justify it. If I could get msrp, I would have definitely ordered pts. UV was my favorite in 16, and I haven't decided on 19 yet as I haven't seen Miami in person. I ordered white, but the red is really growing on me.

i had a PTS a-1 black .1 and it actually moved my build up and I received my car earlier. If I had gone with PTS this year it would have pushed my build to at least the next year and even then might not have been approved. I wouldn't wait to get my car. The .1 colors were more restrictive when compared with what most RS buyers want. I think the .1 was allowed in Lava Orange, GT Silver, White, Ultra Violet so PTS much more demand and needed if you like a particular color. With the .2 Porsche decided to give a much better range for people so I think PTS is much less necessary and not nearly as in demand. This time around they gave us a spectrum of color choices especially ones that appeal to RS buyers.

I went with PTS because none of the available non-PTS colors did it for me for my GT3T build. I am a big fan or agate grey but I have it on my 991.1 GTS and I did not want to have two cars with the same color. Light ivory just spoke to me. It has a "wow" factor to my eye that none of the non-PTS colors can match. And yes, the cost is worth it to me, otherwise I would not have paid for it!
