there are two layers to PTS- the signal green, viper green, slate gray, mexico, voodoo, riviera, birch green, that 80% of people select.

then there are the next 18% of cars that are a little more obscure; brewster, amethyst, china gray, rosso corsa, oryx white pearl, etc

then the thin crusty bit: then there are 2% of PTS that are super unique- the first time we have seen it on a porsche, or first time on a 911 etc. maybe you have to sit through 10 months or more of feasibility.

I think if you are picking from a mainstream PTS color it's easier to sell in the future. the second layer will be polarizing to some people, or hit and miss. the crusty last 2% is a lot of brain damage but gives Exclusive Manufaktur a great chance to shine and flex their muscles.

I think because so many people have elected to do PTS- the 12k Porsche charges takes a lot of meat off the bone. Is a PTS car...WORTH MORE? well to you, it should be otherwise why pay for it. but to the public? not worth as much as it was last time around.

Unless I misread what AC posted in the allocation thread March is when PTS allocations are coming.

Guys thanks for the reply’s. C.J., good info. 👍

i would lean towards Birch Green with Arum wheels, deviated stitch and white guages.

Nice summary and to add to that, keep in mind on the RS .1 and the GT3 .2 PTS option was/is around 8% of all builds. So to pick a popular color like Mexico Blue- for the 997 GT3 or RS this is truly rare, but for the GT3 .2 I have over a dozen on my list alone which is maybe 40% of the total. So if you pick such a popular color the value is diminished based solely on availability. On the other hand, they are popular for a reason and unusual colors are not popular for a reason.

when I told my GF I'm going to drop 13K for a paint job she almost left me. then she saw the car; she nodded in agreement

there's a lot of money these days, dropping 13K on a paint job is nothing to most people who can also drop another 30K on cxx bullocks
agree 100% with CJ's analogy. there are conservative colors that we all get vs. truly rare PTS that most of don't have the *****, the patience, or money to order
I don't consider my color anything special or the 47 voodoos or signals or fashions a true PTS.....but they are to the person who dropped 13K on a paint job

I also really think Brewster in the RS would be great. While it’s a little dark and I like RS in popping colors it would be gorgeous with Arum wheels and white guages and Pccbs

Paint to sample isn't "to sample" for the most part.

I think the .1 was allowed in Lava Orange, GT Silver, White, Ultra Violet so PTS much more demand and needed if you like a particular color. With the .2 Porsche decided to give a much better range for people so I think PTS is much less necessary and not nearly as in demand. This time around they gave us a spectrum of color choices especially ones that appeal to RS buyers.

I think PTS would only be worth what you value a a particular color. I do not think I would ever cough up $12,000 thinking it would be worth more when I sell it. It would actually probably be worth less if the market hit the crapper. Only buy for yourself

If you truly don't like any of the available standard/special colors, than yes, it's worth it. If you are choosing it because you think there's money-in-the-trunk, I don't think that's the case with 991 gen GT's.

In my case, I have wanted an NA, 6-speed 911 in Classic Slate Grey (615) for 10 years. Was denied twice when PTS was much harder to get. Have it now on my .2 GT3, and it is well worth the $12k to me. I would have paid $20k for it. That's how much I wanted that color from the factory.

991 PTS GTs = like buying Apple stock at $220
997 PTS GTs = like buying Apple stock at $90
996/3 PTS GTs = like buying Apple stock at 90 cents
