991.1 GT3 Future Value
I completely understand I’m asking a crystal ball question and normally I would refrain from doing so but with the 992 debut right around the corner next month, I figured I would ask.
I have been keeping an eye on low mileage 991.1 GT3 values for the past year and in the last 12 months, I have seen 2014-2016 cars go from 160-170k down into the 130-150k range with the release of the 991.2 GT3. Obviously this is to be expected but I’m wondering with the 992 Carerra and attention being turned to the upcoming 992 GT3 (which is already been seen testing and will likely be released much sooner than the 991.1 GT3 was), if current GT3 values will suffer much further.
My main reason for asking is that I’m about to pull the trigger on a low mileage, well optioned 2015 GT3 that’s priced in the high 130’s and don’t want to lose 10-15k in value in the next 30 days. So I’m considering letting this car go and waiting until Dec.
I also would love to hear from 997 GT3 owners that had their cars when the 991 Carrera was debuted and if they suffered any major additional depreciation. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I’m completely fine with and accepting of depreciation. Like many 991.1 GT3 buyers that purchased right before the 991.2 GT3, they saw major instant depreciation that could have been avoided if they waited 30 days. I’m just trying to be strategic with my decision and avoid any regret because I want the car now 🙂

My thoughts are that values won’t be impacted either but I’m curious if any 997 GT3 guys saw any major movement when the 991 was debuted.

The car will depreciate exactly 6.237% in the next 30 days and then .04% per week till February. Then if the groundhog see his shadow double the rate of depreciation for the next 18 months. If he doesn’t, then depreciation rate remains constant.

Except when Halley's Comet is visible from earth. Then it'll appreciate 0.05% per week, non compounded of course.

Maybe looking at the prices of the .1 GT3 in Dubai would give you a good heads up LOL , the prices here are very very low a few examples of cars that are for sale right now.
2015 , 27k miles , 94 K USD
2014 , 15k miles , 91 K USD
There are a few more others, still listed for the past few months, believe it or not there are still brand new .1 GT3 RS for sale , i remember the same cars were listed for close to 270 K USD and now 185 K USD they just want them out the door.
Its a shame that the GT Cars are used for flipping instead of driving, there are many listed .2 GT3 RS , its a matter of time till people realize and stop buying cars from flippers, hope that happens soon. Porsche! build more GT cars! LOL

I am speechless.....how does one even figure out how much money they "lose" in 30 days unless they buy it and sell it in 30 days.....let it go, wait til Dec, ask the same question, let it go, wait til Jan, ask the same question, let it go, etc, etc.....lose out on months of enjoyment of owning the car or worse, never own it......
