This is exactly my point. Porsche obviously didn’t create the 992s because the 991 GT3s were a hard sell. It’s a constant evolution that must carry on. There are many that may not like all the aspects of the next gen over the current. I for one, find the size of the 997s to be about perfect, and still think it’s a car that is timeless and has aged gracefully well.

To the OP.. I wouldn’t take the comments on this thread so hard if I were you. Value threads like this can be anyone’s speculation to begin with, so take all the information with a grain of salt. It’s also why so many will tell you to stop thinking about it as an investment.. because there is no way to know and it’s pointless to let it get in the way of your enjoyment of such an incredible machine we are all so privileged to enjoy. I'd just ignore the posts that aren’t helpful and let this thread carry on!

Maybe get a 911 R if you are afraid of the depreciation, which I can totally understand and agree. I think the 911 R prices have hit their bottom and won't go down much anymore. Unless we see a huge recession next year or two. If you will keep the car for a long time, I believe 911 R will appreciate over time and you will be even.

And I agree that 991.1 GT3 is probably the least desirable of 991 Gen

To clear things a bit, I mean the least desirable 991 GT car.

Disagree. The .1 GT3 is definitely the best bang for the buck 991 GT car. Affordability is much greater in the $125-150K range vs the .2 in the $175K range....

OP is too worried about losing money, and asking a question about which only speculation is possible. At some point, you just have to say it looks like a good deal, pull the trigger, enjoy the car, and don’t think further about depreciation. I’ll drive my car until I don’t want to drive it anymore, then will sell it for whatever it can fetch and not worry about whether it was a good ‘investment’.
