Default "Check engine oil level" after 300-400 miles?

Hey there my friends, I have a 991.2 GT3 manual and noticed a "check engine oil level' notification this morning. The car only has between 300 and 400 miles on it since new and I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this so early and what the best course of action is? I don't want to add more oil because I feel like I could be overfilling it. The car has been driving perfectly and I haven't rev'ed past 4000rpm (in order follow break-in procedures). I suspect this could because it was cold in my parking garage, but I'm not 100% sure. I also may want to avoid taking it t the dealership, but if I have to, I will.

Thanks everyone!

Sorry, I also replied to a previous thread about a similar issue, but I thought I'd create a new one because the car is so new and the miles are fairly low.

Follow the owners manual on how to check it. If it still reads low, then it is fine to add, but do so in small increments (think 1/4 or less of a quart at a time). The oil sensoring is very sensitive, and oil overfill has been common in the past. It probably was not filled enough at the dealer (to keep the warning from coming on)

If dealer not too far just have them take a look.

Open and shut your deck engine lid and see if it goes away

For the bars in the dash to measure oil level, each bar is the same as the markers on the quart bottle. So if you think you need to add 3 bars, use the markers on the the quart bottle - is 3x markers

Awesome! What oil do you recommend for a 991.2 GT3? I haven't read the manual yet, but wanted to get an idea of what most members are using.

Are you sure it’s low? I had that warning and when I checked it it read as overfilled. When I finally made it to the dealership it was normal. Must have parked on a grade or something.

Interesting. It probably isn't full at all and it seems like a lot of people are getting that message randomly. My initial suspicion was the cold temp inside the parking garage. I'll check the oil level once I get home.

Interesting; this appears to be a fairly common occurrence, lol.

I've done 8,000 miles in my GT3 and as I said every 5 or so fill-ups I get it. It think its just a courtesy warning to remind you to check it now and again.

Normal. Just top it up 200ml at a time.

Actually, with my 991.1 GT3, you needed to be VERY careful adding oil. It was very little difference between the yellow "add oil" and the two bars down ideal. I added 1/4 of a quart after it read yellow twice and that almost always put it at the ideal.

With my 991.2 GT3T, it's completely different. If it's down to yellow/add oil, you put in a whole quart and that puts it about 3/4 of the way to full. The 991.2 is much easier to keep the oil level correct. I'm a little over 10,000 miles and I've added the quart twice. So, it's burning a quart about every 4,000 miles which is more than my 2014 did but still reasonable for a flat-6.

My routine has always been to check my oil on Monday mornings when I get to work. So, that's about every 400 miles and it seems often enough that I don't get scolded to check my oil
