Never trust a dealer getting PPF done. Ryan should know that
To expand a bit here. Ryan / DDW is not a broker, he actually is a full retail independent dealer, which provides lots of benefits. For example, he took my trade (very fair deal) and funded and secured the car immediately. He did help with negotiating down the price of the car and It was very easy to deal with and has been in touch with me constantly to check on me and the car. I never had to deal with the dealer... Ryan handled and is handling everything. That saves me time, money and patience... plus he made the deal possible (out of state) and has connections across the US. I did made a posting about him a few weeks ago... because of his outstanding services I feel this situation with the dealer is totally unfair to him. We can not let the good guys be punished or unfairness to prevail.

You are joking, but honestly, for a moment, I actually thought exactly that :-)

This is a perfect example of why you should never have a dealer do anything like paint correction/detailing or wrapping. It's not their core business and they just don't know what they're doing. I would be on the phone with the GM two minutes after the sales guys told me he 'didn't have profit' to fix their mistake.

This should be an open and shut case. Paid $1K for services which were not fully rendered! Rectify the situation or refund the $$. Can’t imagine Porsche Austin has a leg to stand on. Bizarre. Sucks that you’re going through this.

Little OT but my SA is recommending me to do PPF at the dealer. They use outside guy (installer).

Apparent, the detailing shop where I wanted to get PPF done uses the same guy.

Is it a good idea to get it done in dealership?

If it’s the same guy who does it and uses the same stuff you should be fine. You will be paying a little premium to get it done at the dealer, but that is your call.

Getting after market stuff done at dealer has pluses and minuses
plus end : if something bad happen, you have better luck with a dealer as compared to a small shop, as they worry about reputation etc
minus end : you are adding a middleman between you and the aftermarket stuff, so either you pay more or get a cheaper version
what I do is dependent on how much I trust the dealer and the job that I need
for a PPF , I would rather have my own guy , and certainly will not use an out of town dealer, because if any mishap, then it will be complicated as un fortunately happened to OP

Dealership was nice enough to give me a MSRP deal. I'll take some hit on that.

To be honest, I spent more time in this post than dealing with this matter... Ryan is actually dealing with it and has been all over. He advocated for me then ... and now is my turn to advocate for him.

Sucks to not get what you were expecting. But $1k for a wrap??— I wouldn’t expect much. Good complete wraps (not pre-cut) are $5-8k.

Not $1K for a wrap... it is for the missing panels + install... actually it's ~ $800 just to complete the job that was not done.

PPF at the dealer is a crap shoot. More likely to loose than win. It is a profit item for them.

I'd say about 1mm (3/64")... I believe it can be repaired... we have the paint from P and the shop that will be doing the PPF knows how to handle things like this. But I like to see the end result.

Edit to say: But I can't not unseen it when looking at the hood ;-( ... it's like my eyes are drawn to it all the freaking time...
