In the last 18 months I have:

Picked up my Grand Sport in Atlanta and drove to Portland OR- approx 2800 miles

Picked up my SS in Denver and drove to Portland- approx 1000 miles

And of course just did Euro Delivery for my GT3:

Go out there and make some memories!!

We should set up a GT3 support group and accompany OP from door to door... meeting at various points along the way, state lines, rest stops, just to make sure the car is intact and his head is still in a good place, in case he decides to quit and pack it in a shipping container with bubble wrap.

I picked up my last two cars about 600 miles from home and drove them back. To date, two of the best driving experiences I've had.

I would literally pay to do it again. From that perspective, paying someone to transport the car thus robbing you of a great experience is a bit back wards isn't it?

If anyone needs me to drive their new GT3 from Atlanta to anywhere, just PM me. I'll wear gloves and a full body PPF if needed.

owning a garage queen. I saw a quote stated kind of like
"saving your car for the next owner is like saving your girlfriend for the next guy"
best advise I think I have ever gotten for my cars.

Just drove my Lava Orange 3RS from Boston to DC a few weeks ago. It was definitely a blast. However, my laser detector got quite busy for the 7 hour trip. I concluded that Lava Orange is a laser magnet and now understand the purpose of laser jammers, which I didn't have. I still review the footage of the trip from my Waylens, especially with all the cops trying to pace me in every state.

I've been waiting more than 14 months since I placed the order and just want the thing home. It's probably not worth the extra miles and potential highway damage, even though the car is fully protected now.
YES ,,,,I just did it last week 650 miles from Atlanta to Va beach... it was a blast and I would have driven it another 500 miles .. It was great drive and turns out they were made for driving

Just added XPel to be installed at POE for my car. Worst part, another 2 weeks added to delivery time. Now mid January to February.

Necessary evil I guess, more reason to drive it home.

Sorry, was traveling the last couple of days. As fate would have it, right when I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a plane ticket, the transport company called and set the pickup date for tomorrow. Looking back, I guess I screwed the pooch on this one. Never really gave consideration to driving the car home when I was setting up all the logistics for the delivery but in hindsight, I really wish I had and like you all have said, made a fun and memorable trip out of it. This car will definitely not be a bubble wrapped garage queen, so I guess I'm gonna have to chalk this up as a lesson learned. My bad for sure. Now I just hope the transport process goes smoothly so I don't really regret this decision.
