Service Test Drives
Do you guys allow the dealer to do test drives after service say oil change or warranty work? I had an incident with my old AMG in which the dealer got into a fender bender and am trying to avoid that for any test drives after work is done - not worried about joyrides.

I just took my M4 in to the BMW dealer for a couple of minor cosmetic warranty issues, replacing a seat emblem and a squeaky trunklid spring. When I got the car back I noticed they had put about 28 'test miles' on the car. Called it to the attention of the service advisor. He said they are required to test drive for the lights to reset

I know of a Maserati Alfa tech who carries a go pro with him and records the test drives. I think it's an excellent idea and they all should do it.

Many repairs require a test drive in order to confirm the fix. However, there's a fine line between being professional and joy ride, especially when it comes to nice cars...

Installing a dash cam, at least for these situations, and making sure the service department knows it's there, is probably not a bad idea...

That's the fun part of VBox, it records all drives when plugged in.
I have some 100MPH video of my 4.0 with a Champion employee (Not Shiraaz LOL).
But the oil was warm and he was pretty crisp with his heel and toe, so I let it go..
I ask the shop owner to drive it as much as possible, so they can hear and feel the car out.

Test drive to confirm a repair is done right will always be valid in my book. If I can't trust a dealer to drive my car a couple miles, I probably wouldn't trust giving them my money to buy the car in a first place. Those with your dashcams, and logging the miles on the odometer... enjoy your tinfoil hats.
