We saw the same thing on the line, quite the sight to see firsthand.

Slightly OT but I didn't want to start a new thread for one question. My car has arrived in port at Houston. The ship has been unloaded and has gone on its merry way. My question is: does the dealer get notified when the car is put on a truck and is heading to the dealership? Or does the car show up one day and it's a surprise to everyone?

From my own experience with my 911, the dealership was aware when my car had been loaded onto a truck for transport. They called me in the morning to say it was on it's way and would arrive in the afternoon. I took delivery a couple days later after dealer prep, PPF and coating.

Unless you subscribe for satellite tracking, ships go dark until they get close to shore.

For those on the west cost (Port of entry San Diego, LA etc...) there are webcams at a couple of key junctures at the Canal so you can actually watch the transit live ... Panama Canal Webcam. The Port of San Diego also have some webcams... but it is not easy to time with the actual entry...

I experienced tracking the journey from EMDEM to San Diego twice... its a recipe for anxiety (as in it causes it) ... but it is cool to follow it through he app across the north sea, down the atlantic ... evading a couple of hurricanes, tropical storms and the bermuda triangle... ... ... then crossing the Canal... etc...

Bummed, since I dropped mine off at Sindelfingen going on 3 weeks ago its been crickets. Was hoping it would be on a boat by now. Since the car is paid for my dealer says its officially been delivered while on ED so they no longer get updates. Sadly ED department seems swamped, not really communicating. Hopefully its here for Thanksgiving!
