GT3 Touring vs. 997 RS 4.0
A pretty good YouTuber drove both cars back to back and compared the two 4L engines, manual transmissions and steering. Not sure if this was posted already.

The advantage to a Touring is that you can DD it. It's not as collectible as the 4.0.
Now if you funds are unlimited, or you give zero ducks, that may change the equation.

"turbo lag"? Now I'm offended...!

+1. also kind of laughed at the comments he made about the mezger 4.0 being a lot torquier because it's a "race derived engine"... the thing he also neglects is that the newer suspension is probably more capable despite being more comfortable. it amazes me how much better car suspensions get with every generation - handling and comfort are not a zero sum game (i.e. it's possible to improve both comfort and handling).
can't take reviews like this seriously. I loved the video and audio though - still very enjoyable to watch

Any video showing these cars out in the wild, especially the 997 RS 4.0 is worth watching imo! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so saying one car is better than another doesn't really matter to me. But there was some good video. That 997 RS 4.0. Just wow.

Yes, there were some not so initiated comments. Agree though that is was a nice video to watch. Also agree that the suspension/chassis are so much more advanced only 5-7 years (and one platform) on. Yes, the GT3 is comfortable (if only just) on the street, but at the same time it is fantastic on the track. As you say, it's not a trade-off. Given total freedom of choice between the cars I would keep my GT3, except maybe stealing and installing the 997 steering in my car

Thanks for posting.
I counted 4 "Wows" for the Touring. The RS - none.
Ok, ok....he was familiar with his own car. RELAX
His comments on these two apply similarly to my old 2008 GT3 and my 2015 GT3. The 997 models are just more analogue and dialed. Variety is the mother of enjoyment...

So true. I would happily add a 997.2 GT3RS to my stable.

That's a pretty nasty windshield crack in the Touring!! Either way, nice video however as mentioned the two cars are not quite comparable!

" The Touring has the fuel injected engine, while the RS 4.0 has the old Mezger engine ". I had to stop watching right there! So the Mezger is not fuel injected,is it carbureted or what?! Some of these guys are a joke! If you have followers and you want to get a message across, learn your facts or you'll sound foolish...

Just look and listen to the cars. Works on almost any youtube channel. But i don’t find this guy bad. Besides he owns nice cars and makes videos with them in it.
