Thanks for sharing.
I have a 991.2 GT3 with valved side delete and OEM center. Sound booth at Sonoma had me at 98dB at 50ft on the front straight. That's flat in 3rd to 4th gear.

Because you start with only one pipe (inlet of the side muffler) and you either split going to the center muffler or you keep it as a single pipe and block off the smaller diameter inlet on the center muffler. To do an X, you need to start with 2 and end with 2.

I see the single inlet, but what if after the split it re-merged and split again to add a place for sound waves to cancel out? No performance benefit
Or just an H pipe like Soul mentioned

You need an inlet from both sides of the motor to cancel anything out.

Hey did you ever do up that write up? Have been doing lots of research on centre vs. Side bypass. There are some very compelling products out there from BBi, JCR, etc. My issue is I want to retain the OEM Center Muffler Look from the car but I need more sound in my life. I also don’t want to be modifying the car too much. It seems like a Center bypass makes more sense, however I lose the look I’m wanting. However the side bypasses are intriguing, however I have not been able to get much input in terms of sound comparison. I’ve also heard about the potential failure of Center OEM bypass.

Just finished shooting a review of my Fabspeed Center Muffler Bypass for anyone interested:

I feel the Center muffler gives you the best of both worlds and is simple to install.

Why yes, as a matter of fact I did (I was representing AutoQuest in 2017/2018 on Rennlist). Below is a link to the side vs center muffler bypass explanation thread I wrote up. There is plenty of great conversation about it as well in the posts to follow. If you'd like, please feel free to give me a call at 484 883 6197 and I'd be happy to walk you through the explanation and point you in the right direction. If you do want to pursue a center muffler bypass instead of the side bypass, I have a large variety of tip options with the ability for custom work if you want to make it unique to your tastes.

Digging this setup. Have GMG center and want to change the sides but there’s no specific bracket to hold the GMG. The Shark bolts on correct?

The sharkwerks center uses a bracket so no issues there. A friend of mine just did Soul Sides with GMG Center. I would give John at Soul a call, I believe they have a solution.

I’m probably going steel GT3muffler and Soul side delete, no valves.

I think this is a good choice. I have the Soul Performance valved side deletes and love them. I've found that above about 2,500rpm the valves don't seem to do anything anyway. Certainly no difference in sound or drone at the typical rpm that drone occurs, 2,700 to 3,000 rpm. Save the cost and the weight and go valveless.

What I’m running...sound good...I have the valves side delete but valves are open all the time. No real need for the valves

Kirby is on point, I've found that you can use a heavy duty set of 4in band clamps to go around the center bypass and the factory center muffler support brace to support the system when adding a side muffler bypass. We typically have these clamps in stock and would be happy to send out a set with our side muffler bypass pipes for anyone running a center muffler that have no support.
