Default Auto Palace Porsche

Anyone have experience with this dealership in Pittsburg? Any particular SA you would recommend? I’m looking at a MB GT3 there and would appreciate any input. Thanks!

The car itself is overpriced IMO (37K over MSRP) but never hurts to make an offer.

Try sending a PM to rennlist member needmoregarage. She’s in the Pburgh suburbs.

I've been working with Jake Dunks-Campbell on on a GT3 for more than a year now. He's ultra professional, and I couldn't be more pleased.

Yes they are, Lol. I’m not into paying ADM, believe me. But it’s close to how I would have specced the car. It’s a 182,310 window with an asking of 219,010. So, almost 37 over. I was think of going in at 10 over. I’m not in rush and prices on non-PTS GT3s seem to be softening. I’m also looking at the 600LT if I can’t get a reasonable deal on a GT3. We’ll see what happens.

What do you and others think is a fair price?

I don’t have any experience with Auto Palace. I use Sewickley Porsche and am very happy with them.

I highly recommend Jake, I've known him for several years. He is very honest and thorough, one of the best SA's you'll encounter. I also saw that car last week at auto palace and it is honestly mint and I'm extremely picky when it comes to used (and sometimes even new) cars.

I worked with Steve Blackwell, one of the other SA’s at AP, and had a pleasant experience even though I ultimately didn’t buy my car from them. It is where I service my car though.

They’ve had a few 991.2 GT3’s in through there this summer. They’ve all had pretty outrageous markups: they had a touring for sale at the beginning of the summer for $100k over, and a PTS winged car a couple months ago for $50k over. Alas, I don’t know what they actually would up selling for, so can’t comment on their willingness to budge. Their markups on new cars where closer to market, they offered me a 3RS build for $40k over back in June.

Overall if you like the car and can get it for a price you’re comfortable with, I’d say go for it. For my interactions with them they’ve been reputable this far.

The car itself is in great shape, I’ve sat in it a few times while waiting for my car to be serviced. They also have a really nice PTS black .1 3RS with houndstooth buckets right now.

By all means for sure make an offer, it never hurts to ask is my policy. But I don't buy the perceived rarity in this car, and I own one. There are so many on the market, and many RLers are moving on from theirs as we can see in the classifieds as well for whatever reason they are entitled to, so if I was in the market to buy one I would be making cash offers across the board just a bit north of MSRP and play hardball, someone will blink. If it's a spec you really really want and you've locked into that one then it all boils down to what is the car's value to you all-in, and see if they can meet you there. I think 10 over for non PTS 6MT non Touring is fair personally

$20k over would be my max, and only for the perfect spec.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I spoke with Jake today. Stand-up guy from what I could tell from our 20 minute conversation. About the car...it only has 190 miles on it. It is fully wrapped in expel clear film (probably 5-6K). Jake said it was done very well. No lines. The pricing...they are asking 219,010. Jake said the GM bought the car for 200K. I was offered the car at 205 to 206K with shipping included from Pittsburgh to Phoenix, AZ. Probably 1500-2K in cost. I told Jake that 195K was my max at this time. I thought 13 over was a strong offer. I’d spring for the shipping at that price too. We’ll see what happens. I can’t believe the GM would have paid that much for a GT3. Jake seems to be upfront and if the 200K is correct that could be a losing proposition for them. I’ll update if we can come to an agreement.

I think one of our RL friends just put his GT3 for sale at Porsche Chandler. You may want to check that one out too. Or talk to Ryan, from DDW here in Scottsdale. He has two GT3s available in town (Red and Nardo Gray) both manuals.
