991.1 GT3 Track Crash

Nothing major by the looks of it....still pains to see it.

Rear wheels were turning after it hit the wall but not while they were towing it. Did he not put it in neutral??

iheart9k 09-28-2018 12:39 AM

Or left parking break on?

usctrojanGT3 09-28-2018 01:18 AM

Oh man, that wasn't fun to watch....did he go too hot into the turn or forgot to turn?

Ducati1199 09-28-2018 01:23 AM

Well if it wasn’t messed up before the tow it was certainly after that towing effort?!?! Good grief what was that???

qbix 09-28-2018 05:55 AM

guy in big stress. no wonder he forgot to put it in N. the towing guy however was a ****.

aamersa 09-28-2018 07:43 AM

He was making out with the woman passenger and completely forgot to turn at the bend. You notice he goes straight in to the grass and fence, not even an attempt at a turn.

Looks like Zandvoort last corner before pit straight. If you take this well it’s flat from the left side entry curb, so very unusual to understeer out of the corner like this. He must have gone in at a very sharp angle and just mashed the throttle. Really careless behaviour from the recovery guys though. If the car doesn’t roll just put it on a flat bed. This was just a trackday so the extra 5 minutes would have been ok.

EFA: actually looks like a the wide section after Scheivlak, which makes the massive understeer more understandable. Apparently the guy deserved it but nontheless the amount of bile he receives on YT does not reflect well on the average viewer.

Those locked wheels...major cringe

GiuseppeM 09-28-2018 09:14 AM

Funny to see no airbags deployed when Chevrolet Colorado's go for a sneeze

911dev 09-28-2018 09:30 AM

ugh.... not sure which is worse watching the crash or the eff'd up tow.

Palting 09-28-2018 01:20 PM

Sheeesh, guy's got bad luck. Looks like maybe got lost or distracted and didn't turn in enough, then didn't realize he was not in neutral for the tow.

It looks like he went into the turn too hot and didn't get his braking done in the straight so the front tires didn't have enough grip to make the turn. It happens all the time.
And the tow, yeah, WTF. I understand the need to get the car off the track ASAP so you don't hold up the session, but why add additional misery. Unless the car couldn't go into N.

konaforever 09-28-2018 06:28 PM

He should’ve turned.

He should have stayed on track and not hit the armco....LOL

This happens all the time. What doesn't happen on amateur day is having video like this. Great footage.
