Relationships are for chicks. These are business transactions. Dealer could give a rats *** about anyone if you don't have $$ to spend.

They'll be able to sell the the other car. Demand is alive and well.

A VIP flip?? You don't say

You are paying ADM. I wouldn't give rat's *** about relationship.

Buy what you want, you may have no leverage with them in future despite your choice. Also build relationships with the dealer GM and Principal, they care about the big picture. Work with department heads and they are focused on their departmental metrics. Not to say they don't all talk to each other and can influence big picture decisions, but end of day comes down to profit per customer. GM, Sales Managers, Sales Reps all turnover, what's left is a report in their ERP with your spend and maybe comments.

I don't understand the issue. If you're paying over MSRP then you don't have a relationship as far as the dealership is concerned. Whoever is willing to pay the ADM gets the car. Past car buying history is irrelevant at least to the dealer. That said, I'm not buying the claim that choosing the WP from the SAME dealer will affect whatever relationship you think you have. What it sounds like to me is the SA is losing a sale and is feeding you crap.

Julia Roberts would disagree...

Seriously, this is not hard - your paying the dealer $xx,xxx presumably in addition to the MSRP; I know how I would feel about that 'relationship'.

Sales manager and GM want both sold. If anything they are happy can move used car instantly and can find someone to get the incoming RS. Unless you made some crazy spec on RS that can't be changed.

Agree with previous statements. If you are paying ABOVE MSRP, you don’t have a “relationship”.

Get the car you want. Nothing to worry about, next time they will gladly accept your adm payment.

You are talking to the wrong people at the dealership
I only deal with GM who has control over new and used
and ultimately that is the only relationship you need !!!!

You probably know how this would go down with your current dealer, which is secretly why you posted here; your Sales Associate will play hardball for his commission, you will compromise and end up "doing the right thing" and passing up the option to get what you really want. ( Something they never offered you or kept you informed about when it opened up before.)

If you did take both and sold one privately, EVEN if it was a loss, then the result wouks still be that the dealer would be PO'ed they didnt get the backside profit.

You are a detailed oriented person so 9 months down the road you'll still like the car but everytime you see it you'll feel that nagging reminder like you wanted something badly, it briefly was within grasp but then got away and these sre the leftovers...and you dropped over a quarter mill to compromise and make the dealer happy.

The dealership dangled that carrot, they should put up with the consequences.

Just as a side note, have you considered chatting with C J Wilson? Your present situation seems like it could use an upgrade and your current dealer seems to be focused on the dealerships best interest.

It's simple - get the car you want. The one you don't buy, they will sell easily.

I'd pass on the WP car unless it's otherwise exactly as you want. The package in the US makes no sense as we don't get the titanium cage.

+1,
I find the standard roof of magnesium alloy more exotic than carbon fibre and a harken back to 1970s racing development days.
Metallurgy baby.

Now if they are handing out that second hood guaranteed as part of the WP deal....then i am doing a 180 degree and say yes, make it happen
