I use two from Harbor Freight (kinda crappy, but been very reliable) - one is heavy and one is light and portable racing jack. I know Jackpoint sells/recommends several too on their site (all out of stock, but probably available elsewhere).
Received a set of jackpoint jack stands, but my Craftsman jack will not fit completely "thru" the stands. Anyone use these on a 991 GT3 and can recommend a compatible jack?
Now I'm nervous....my long awaited set of Jackpoint jack stands finally shipped.
I have a Hein-Werner 3-ton jack (USA made) that BETTER fit or I'll be Pi$$ed.
So using the Harbor Freight jacks still allows for jack plate with rubber pad and metal ring to clear under car?
My car sits with 5" clearance on the rear. plate, rubber pad and metal ring just about 2".

HF makes two similar jacks.
The first (as shown in the previous photo/post and in pic below) has a resting height of 2 7/8". 2 7/8' resting, without rubber pad
A similar, long reach one (that I bought specifically to get adequate reach under a Delorean) has a resting height of 2 5/8".

I had a set on backorder then saw a thread about the Quickjacks.. Bought one and can't be any happier. Fits under my Touring and my old '16RS no problem.
Sam - just to verify - what size are those quickjacks?
They are the 5000lb ones. Overall length of platforms is 72" which fits perfectly on 991 911's and also 981 Cayman. Fits under all cars I've recently had '15 GT3, '16RS, '15 Cayman GTS w/sport suspension and '18 GT3 with the rubber blocks that come with the unit.

I had a Sears Craftsman automotive jack fail and come down on me while attempting to put jack stands under the car. The handle was under the tail of the car when it happened and smacked down on my back, pinning me on the floor for a spell until I wiggled out. Minor injury, but it could have been far worse.
I know these Harbor Freight (and others) jacks are cheap, but I would never trust my car—let alone my life—to something made where quality control is 100 years behind the rest of the industrial world.
