Increase MPH at redline in 3rd and 4th gear
I had my first on track experience with new 18 GT3 manual this past weekend. Love the car and I was turning lap times at Mid Ohio that were 5-6 seconds faster than my old 2013 Carrera S. My biggest issue is that I am hitting redline on front and back straight - back straight in 4th gear redline's at 142-143 MPH. There is not really room to shift into 5th and then I would have to down shift twice at the turn in. Same thing on the front straight where I am red lining at 110MPH within a second or two of the brake zone.
So, here is my question; is there a way to slightly modify the gearing so that the I can get another 10-20% higher ratio and hit 145-150 on back straight in 4th and 115-120 in 3rd on front straight? I am assuming the ratio's are optimized by Porsche engineers and maybe you should not mess with perfection. Any other suggestions? I thought about bigger wheels/tires?
Thanks in advance for any ideas

Just short shift into 5th (and 4th on the slower straight) a little before redline and see if this gives a better top speed and Lap time. Yes, you will have to downshift twice (or drop directly from 5th to 3rd once slowed to appropriate speed, if you prefer). Doing this under braking, you should not add any delay to your lap time.
BTW, the gearing in pdk is even lower and would require earlier shifting into the higher gears.

This.
Short of the above, I suggest to simply change your driving technique. Short shift to 5th after the kink on the back straight, you should still be high on the power band and get to 150 and up before the braking zone. Then stand on the brakes, heel-toe to 4th then 3rd and pucker up around the right hander . You will need that engine brake to haul you down to make the turn. You can also short shift the front straight to get a few more MPH before turn one, but then I find myself going too fast at the next short straight and have to brake/feather/downshift the first turn at the bustop, so I don't bother.

Three Wheelin'
Don't mess with it. Short shift earlier in the straight of you don't want to bang against redline. And, realistically, unless you are a race team that can change car gearing and set up for each track, why mess with it? It is not a race car, simply a sports car that can work quite well for an enthusiast that likes to go to the track a few times a year.

Awesome, I will experiment with the short shift and see how it affects performance. I am back up there in a few weeks so I will not have to wait long...
Any other ideas are welcome, but not PDK, blasphemy

At Mid Ohio in our SRF3's we had the same issue- I think we just shifted up to 5th every lap and then the fifth to third downshift works fine. On many tracks where we are within 100 to 200 yards of the braking point we just run to the limiter or feather at the limiter rather than shift- which is the faster lap.

You could go with a shorter tire/wheel package (and at the same time could get grippier tires like Hoosiers). You'd have more time to shift on the straight and maybe be quicker out of certain corners.
