Carbon fiber will be wayy too complicated. Why not just do it in magnesium? As light, much easier to make, you can literally scan the oem design and mill it on magnesium. Just needs a interior coating.

Tends to burn hot and is porous, so not a good air chamber

You can seal it from the inside. The f40 gearbox shell is ALL magnesium. It works quite well, needs sealent reaplied from time to time (decades).

Porsche made both engine and gearbox Magnesium cases for several years in the late 60's and early to mid 70's for all 911's...
